Metropolitan Regions Of Norway
There are 16 statistical metropolitan areas in Norway, of which six count as "Greater City Regions" (''Storbyregioner'') and ten as "City Regions" (''Byregioner''). The classification comes from ''Storbymeldingen'' (The Greater City Report) from the Norwegian Ministry of Local Government and Regional Development. This report was composed in 2002–2003 to create a coherent policy for the development of metropolitan areas within Norwegian society. It was presented by then Minister of Local Government and Regional Development Erna Solberg on 12 March 2003. The Greater City Regions contain cities with numbers of inhabitants ranging from around 60,000 to 1.4 million, while the City Regions range from around 45 to 175 thousand. A barcode or bar code is a method of representing data in a visual, Machine-readable data, machine-readable form. Initially, barcodes represented data by varying the widths, spacings and sizes of parallel lines. Trondheim Region
The Trondheim Region () is a statistical Metropolitan regions of Norway, metropolitan region in the county of Trøndelag in Norway. It is centered in the city of Trondheim (city), Trondheim. The new limited-access road to Orkdal Municipality, a part of European route E39, was completed on 30 June 2005, shortening the driving time between Trondheim and Orkanger with some 15 minutes, adding Orkdal to the region. Although rarer, there is also some commuting from Rennebu Municipality, Levanger Municipality, and Frosta Municipality. Counties Of Norway
There are 15 counties in Norway. The 15 county, counties are administrative division, administrative regions that are the first-level administrative divisions of Norway. The counties are further subdivided into 357 municipalities of Norway, municipalities (). The island territories of Svalbard and Jan Mayen are outside the county divisions and they are ruled directly from the national level. The capital city of Oslo is both a county and a municipality. In 2017, the Solberg's Cabinet, Solberg government decided to abolish some of the counties and to merge them with other counties to form larger ones, reducing the number of counties from 19 to 11, which was implemented on 1 January 2020. This sparked popular opposition, with some calling for the reform to be reversed. The Storting voted to partly undo the reform on 14 June 2022, with Norway to have 15 counties from 1 January 2024. Grenland
Grenland is a traditional district in Telemark county, in the south-east of Norway. "Grenland" has referred to varying locations throughout history. In modern times, Grenland refers to the areas of the municipalities of Skien, Porsgrunn, Bamble, and Siljan. Sometimes the municipalities Kragerø and Drangedal are also considered to be part of the area. The region encompasses and has 122,978 inhabitants (2004), which translates as 12% of the area and 64% of the population of Telemark. Moss (town)
Moss is a coastal town and a municipality in Østfold county, Norway. The administrative centre of the municipality is the town of Moss. The city of Moss was established as a municipality on 1 January 1838 (see formannskapsdistrikt) and City in 1720. The rural municipality of Jeløy was merged with the city on 1 July 1943. The former municipality of Rygge was merged into it on 1 January 2020. Its administrative district covers areas east of the town, such as the island of Dillingøy in the lake Vansjø. Parts of the town are located on the peninsula of Jeløy. The city of Moss has 30,723 inhabitants (2012). Name The Old Norse form of the name was .
