Metal Hero Series
The is a metaseries of tokusatsu superhero TV series produced by Toei for Japanese television. The protagonists of the ''Metal Hero Series'' are mainly space, military and police-based characters who are typically either androids, cyborgs, or humans wearing metallic armored suits. Henceforth, most of the Metal Heroes are also referenced as another example of the "Henshin (transforming) Heroes" genre. Usually, the genre revolves around a technological theme where technology, in the right hands, can be used for the greater good. The shows were produced by Toei from 1982 through 1999 in conjunction with their other Tokusatsu superhero shows, ''Kamen Rider'' and ''Super Sentai''. Metalder
is the sixth and shortest entry of the Metal Hero Series franchise, running from March 16, 1987, to January 17, 1988, for only 39 episodes. The series was broadcast on TV Asahi, initially inheriting the same Monday 7:00PM time slot of all the preceding Metal Hero shows for its first 24 episodes before switching to the Sunday 9:30AM slot for the remainder of its run. ''Metalder'' bears many similarities to Shotaro Ishinomori's ''Android Kikaider'' and ''Kikaider 01'', particularly in its themes, characters, and the hero's costume design. Robotack
is a Japanese Tokusatsu television series created and produced by Toei Company. The series is the seventeenth and final installment of the Metal Hero Series franchise and the partial sequel to '' B-Robo Kabutack''. It premiered on March 8, 1998, the week following the finale of B-Robo Kabutack and ended on January 24, 1999. It joined ''Seijuu Sentai Gingaman'' as part of the block that would ultimately become Super Hero Time in 2003. Like its predecessor, it bears some similarities with Moero!! Kabutack
is a Japanese television series and is the sixteenth series as part of Toei's Metal Hero Series franchise of tokusatsu programs. It aired from February 23, 1997, to March 1, 1998. It is the first of shows made by Toei in the Metal Hero Series that was aimed at children. It aired alongside ''Denji Sentai Megaranger'' on TV Asahi. , is a 1995 Japanese tokusatsu television series. B-Fighter is short for "Beetle Fighter". It was part of Toei's Metal Hero Series franchise. It dealt with three members of the prestigious fighting against the evil forces of the otherworldly Jamahl Empire. The action footage and props were reused for the U.S. adaptation of ''Big Bad Beetleborgs'' and it was followed by spin-off series; ''B-Fighter Kabuto''. Blue SWAT
is a Japanese television show and the thirteenth installment in the Metal Hero Series Metaseries, franchise. It ran from January 30, 1994 to January 29, 1995 for a total of 51 episodes and one theatrical film, aired as part of the 1994 ''Toei Super Hero Fair'', which compiled episodes 1 and 2. ''Blue SWAT'' deviated from the Metal Hero trend by using a realistic vibe for the series instead of fantastic, over-the-top action by focusing on the martial arts and gunplay aspects of the series. While the mood of the series appealed to the genre's adult fanbase and older viewers, the show was not well received by children, which resulted in a change into a lighter tone midway through the series.
