Mercyful Fate Albums
Mercyful Fate is a Danish heavy metal band from Copenhagen, formed in 1981 by vocalist King Diamond and guitarist Hank Shermann. Influenced by progressive rock and hard rock, and with lyrics dealing with LaVeyan Satanism (often with ironic or sardonic use of Christian themes) and the occult, Mercyful Fate was part of the first wave of black metal in the early to mid-1980s, along with Venom and Bathory. The band is also cited as a formative influence on many then-up-and-coming subgenres of heavy metal, including thrash metal and death metal, as well as the Norwegian black metal scene. Since its inception in 1981, Mercyful Fate has released seven studio albums, two extended plays, and four compilations. Joey Vera
Joey Vera (born April 24, 1963) is an American bassist who is known as a member of the heavy metal band Armored Saint and progressive metal band Fates Warning. During 2004 and early 2005, he toured with Anthrax as a fill-in for Frank Bello, who had taken a break from the band. He was also a member of Engine, recorded with Tribe After Tribe, and appears on the OSI album '' Free''. His first solo album, ''A Thousand Faces'', was released in 1994. His current solo project, A Chinese Firedrill, released an album titled ''Circles'' in 2007. In August 2019, Vera was announced as the touring bassist for a newly reunited Mercyful Fate filling in for Timi Hansen. He remained with the band until 2024. Bathory (band)
Bathory was a Swedish extreme metal band formed in Vällingby in March 1983. Named after Hungarian countess Elizabeth Báthory, they are considered pioneers of black metal (alongside Venom, Hellhammer and Mercyful Fate) and Viking metal. The book '' Lords of Chaos'' described Bathory's first four albums as "the blueprint for Scandinavian black metal." The band stopped performing live early on in its career and never toured; frontman, founder and main songwriter Tomas "Quorthon" Forsberg was the sole constant member, and was at times responsible for all instruments. Irony
Irony, in its broadest sense, is the juxtaposition of what, on the surface, appears to be the case with what is actually or expected to be the case. Originally a rhetorical device and literary technique, in modernity, modern times irony has also come to assume a metaphysical significance with implications for the correct human attitude towards life.
