Melodi Grand Prix (), commonly known as Grand Prix and MGP, sometimes as Norsk Melodi Grand Prix, is an annual music competition organised by Norwegian public broadcaster (NRK). It determines for the Eurovision Song Contest, and has been staged almost every year since 1960. The festival has produced three List of Eurovision Song Contest winners, Eurovision winners, Norway in the Eurovision Song Contest 2019, a non-winning televote winner and nine top-five placings for Norway in the Eurovision Song Contest, Norway at the contest. However, Norway holds the record for the number of entries who have come last since entering Eurovision; 12 in all. Secret Garden is an Irish- Norwegian band specialised in new instrumental music, led by the duo consisting of Irish violinist and singer Fionnuala Sherry and Norwegian composer, arranger and pianist Rolf Løvland. Ă…se Maria Kleveland (born 18 March 1949) is a Norwegian singer, guitarist, politician and activist. She represented Norway in the Eurovision Song Contest 1966 with the entry " Intet er nytt under solen". A well-known folk singer and traditional guitarist in Norway, she was appointed Minister of Culture in Norway in 1990, and held the position until 1996, representing the Labour Party under the Gro Harlem Brundtland administration. She was also president of the Swedish Film Institute from 1999 to 2006. In June 2007, she became chairman of the board of Human-Etisk Forbund, the Norwegian humanist organization, a position she held until 2013. Elisabeth Andreassen
Elisabeth Gunilla Andreassen (; born 28 March 1958), also known simply as Bettan, is a Norwegian-Swedish singer who has finished both first and second in the Eurovision Song Contest. "I evighet" (; "For eternity") was the entry in the Eurovision Song Contest 1996, performed in Norwegian by Elisabeth Andreassen. The song reached number 13 on the chart in Norway. In Israel it peaked on number 1. Karoline Krüger (born 13 February 1970) is a Norwegian singer and composer. She represented Norway in the Eurovision Song Contest 1988 final in Dublin, where she finished fifth. Career Krüger's first TV appearance was at the age of 11, in a youth show called ''Halvsju''.
