Mathare United F.C.
Mathare United Football Club is a professional association football, football club based in Nairobi, Kenya. The club competed in the Kenyan Premier League (the highest tier of the Kenyan football league system), but in 2023, the club was relegated to the second division, Kenyan National Super League, National Super League. Established in 1994, Mathare United won its first league title in the 2008 in Kenyan football, 2008 season. The team plays its home matches at the Moi International Sports Centre in Kasarani. Mathare is the home of football teams Mathare United and Real Mathare of the MYSA. The Kenyan Women's Premier League is the top tier women's football league in the Kenyan football league system. It is controlled by the Football Kenya Federation. History The first women's football league in Kenya has been created in 1985. In 2010 no league was running any more because of financial problems.
