Manning Rangers F.C.
Manning Rangers is a South African Association football, football club based in Durban. The side is best remembered as the inaugural champions of the South African Premiership, Premiership, the first in the Premier Soccer League era. History The club was founded in 1928 by GR Naidoo who, as well as administering the club, played as its goalkeeper and was later a referee. In the mid-1960s, the club entered the professional ranks under the auspices of the South African Soccer League. In 1985, the club moved its base from Curries Fountain to Chatsworth. The club entered the 1st Division of the National Soccer League (South Africa), National Soccer League (NSL) in 1991. In 2006, the club declared bankruptcy. The Fidentia Group purchased the club in 2007, renaming it Fidentia Rangers before moving the club from Durban to Cape Town as Ikapa Sporting F.C., Ikapa Sporting. Chatsworth Stadium is a multi-purpose stadium in Durban, South Africa. It is currently used mostly for Association football, soccer matches. From 2024, Durban City F.C. Neil Tovey
Neil Robert Tovey OIS (born 2 July 1962) is a South African soccer coach and former player and also brother of former footballer Mark Tovey. He was born in Pretoria. He holds the record for most appearances in the National Soccer League. Early career Tovey was born in Pretoria but grew up in Durban. He had been playing soccer since 1969. He aspired to be a doctor before opting to play professional football. His brother Mark who was also a footballer used to give him football lessons. George Koumantarakis
Georgios "George" Koumantarakis (born 27 March 1974) is a South African former soccer player of Greek descent. He was born in Athens, Greece but grew up in Durban, South Africa. He studied to be a lawyer and has BCom,LLB degrees from the university of Kwazulu Natal. He is mostly remembered for his time at FC Basel where he played in the Swiss Super League and UEFA Champions League. Bruce David Grobbelaar (born 6 October 1957) is a Zimbabwean former professional footballer who played as a goalkeeper, most prominently for English club Liverpool between 1981 and 1994, and for the Zimbabwean national team.
