Member Of The European Parliament
A Member of the European Parliament (MEP) is a person who has been elected to serve as a popular representative in the European Parliament. When the European Parliament (then known as the Common Assembly of the European Coal and Steel Community, ECSC) first met in 1952, its members were directly appointed by the governments of member states from among those already sitting in their own national parliaments. Since 1979, however, MEPs have been elected by direct universal suffrage. Earlier European organizations that were a precursor to the European Union did not have MEPs. Each Member state of the European Union, member state establishes its own method for electing MEPs – and in some states this has changed over time – but the system chosen must be a form of proportional representation. Maciej Giertych
Maciej Marian Giertych (, born 24 March 1936 in Warsaw) is a Polish dendrologist and social conservative politician of the League of Polish Families (LPR). He favours state intervention in the economy. He was a member of the Sejm (between 2001 and 2004) and a Polish member of the European Parliament (from 2004 to 2009). He was a candidate in the 2005 Polish presidential elections, but withdrew from the race because of low vote results (circa 3%). He is a notable creationist and has stated that he opposes the theory of evolution as a scientist, a geneticist, and not on religious grounds. Andrzej Lepper
Andrzej Zbigniew Lepper (; 13 June 1954 – 5 August 2011) was a Polish politician, Deputy Prime Minister, Minister of Agriculture, and the leader of Self-Defence of the Republic of Poland political party. He was the Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Agriculture and Rural Development between 5 May 2006 and 22 September 2006, and again from 16 October 2006 to 9 July 2007, in the cabinet of Jarosław Kaczyński. Prior to entering politics he was a professional farmer in the village of Zielnowo, Pomerania. He was a candidate in the Polish presidential election in 1995, 2000, 2005 and 2010. Wacław Klukowski
Wacław Klukowski (born April 14, 1966, in Pyrzyce) is a Polish politician, government official, and farmer who served as a member of the Sejm of the Republic of Poland during the fourth convocation. He was also a councilor in the West Pomeranian Voivodeship. Biography Education and professional career In 1986, he graduated from the Agricultural Mechanization Technical College in Pyrzyce, and in 2006, he completed studies in agribusiness at the University of Agriculture in Szczecin. Eugeniusz Kłopotek (born 15 November 1953 in Chojnice, Poland) is a Polish politician who is a member of the Sejm of Poland (1997-2005 and since 2007), member of the European Parliament (2004) and member of the Kuyavian-Pomeranian Regional Assembly (2006-2007). Bogdan Adam Klich (born on 8 May 1960 in Kraków) is a former Minister of National Defence of Poland. Son to Adam Klich. Bogdan Klich was interned in 1981 during the martial law set by the communist regime. Michał Kamiński
Michał Tomasz Kamiński (born 28 March 1972) is a Polish politician and a member of the Senate with the Union of European Democrats. He was chairman of the European Conservatives and Reformists in the European Parliament from July 2009 until March 2011. Kamiński was a founder member of the Christian National Union (ZChN) in 1989, and served on its board from 1995 to 2001. Kamiński was elected to the Sejm in 1997 for Solidarity Electoral Action, which included ZChN. Ryszard Kalisz
Ryszard Roman Kalisz (born 26 February 1957 in Warsaw) is a Polish lawyer, left-wing politician, former member of the Democratic Left Alliance party. In early years he joined the Socialist Union of Polish Students, where he was deputy director of the Main Auditing Committee. He was a member of the Polish United Workers' Party from 1978 until its dissolution in 1990. He was the Minister of Internal Affairs and Administration in the cabinet of Marek Belka. Tadeusz Iwiński
Tadeusz Iwiński (; born 28 October 1944) is a Polish politician. He was from 1991 to 2015 a member of the Sejm (the lower house of the Polish parliament), elected to represent the Olsztyn electoral district from the list presented by the Democratic Left Alliance (Sojusz Lewicy Demokratycznej). He had earlier (1967–1990) been a long-serving member of the communist Polish United Workers Party (Polska Zjednoczona Partia Robotnicza).
