Palais Des Sports Gerland
Palais des Sports de Gerland (English: ''Gerland Sports Palace'') is an indoor arena, indoor sporting arena located in Lyon, France. The seating capacity of the arena is 5,910 people. History It was the venue of the Grand Prix de Tennis de Lyon tournament. The arena was the regular home venue of ASVEL Lyon-Villeurbanne for European Champions cup games in the late 1970s and early 1980s, for which it had a maximum capacity for 10,000 spectators. The arena also hosted the 1968 Suproleague, European Champions cup final in basketball, in which Real Madrid Baloncesto, Real Madrid defeated BC Brno, Spartak Brno 98-95 in front of 8,000 spectators. The venue also saw France Davis Cup team, France defeat the United States Davis Cup team, United States in the 1991 Davis Cup final. The arena hosted the last Saporta Cup final in 2002, in which Montepaschi Siena won the trophy. In 2006 hosted the 2006 European Figure Skating Championships. Clara Tauson
Clara Tauson (born 21 December 2002) is a Danish professional tennis player. Her career-high rankings are world No. 21 in singles, achieved on 3 March 2025 and No. 124 in doubles, on 16 June same year. Tauson has won three WTA Tour titles, all on hardcourts. As a junior, at the age of 13, Tauson became the youngest winner of the Danish tennis championship (surpassing Caroline Wozniacki's record who won at age 14). She won the 2019 Australian Open girls' singles event and became the first Danish girl to top the junior world ranking. On the professional ITF Circuit, she has won eleven titles, the first at age 14. Tauson's WTA Tour debut came in April 2019, and her major debut came at the 2020 French Open. Lesley Pattinama Kerkhove (born 4 November 1991) is a former professional tennis player from the Netherlands. She has won one doubles title on the WTA Tour, as well as ten singles and 17 doubles titles on the ITF Circuit. On 6 June 2022, she reached her best singles ranking of world No. 135. Alycia Parks defeated Caroline Garcia in the final, 7–6(9–7), 7–5 to win the singles tennis title at the 2023 WTA Lyon Open. It was her first WTA Tour singles title. Zhang Shuai was the defending champion, but lost in the second round to Maryna Zanevska. Her first round win was her last singles win until she defeated McCartney Kessler at the 2024 China Open's first round. The 24-match losing streak was the longest losing streak for any player, male or female, in the Open Era.
