Loudoun United FC
Loudoun United FC is an American professional soccer team based in Leesburg, Virginia. The team was founded in 2018 as the reserve team of D.C. United and made its debut in the USL Championship in 2019. After ownership changes, it ceased being the reserve squad for D.C. in 2023. History On July 18, 2018, the team was officially announced by USL and D.C. United as were the team's name, colors and crest. Loudoun United FC replaced Richmond Kickers as D.C. United's USL affiliate. After the founding of MLS Next Pro in 2022 and the subsequent movement of MLS reserve teams to that league by 2023, Loudoun United remained the only MLS-affiliated reserve side in the USL system; due to a legal agreement for leasing Segra Field, United is required to play in the second division. Segra Field
Segra Field is a soccer-specific stadium in Leesburg, Virginia, and the home of Loudoun United FC of the USL Championship and previously Old Glory DC of Major League Rugby. The stadium is located within Phillip A. Bolen Park, and adjacent to Loudoun Soccer Park. In addition to the stadium, a training facility, and team offices for D.C. United of Major League Soccer, MLS and youth development academy will be housed there. The project was supposed to be completed in time for the 2019 USL season, but the completion date was moved to August 2019 due to zoning issues. Zachary Thomas Ryan (born January 14, 1999) is an American professional soccer player who currently plays for Loudoun United in the USL Championship. Club career In 2019, Ryan originally signed with the San Francisco Glens in USL League Two, scoring three goals in three games before returning to Stanford University after the season. On January 20, 2022, Ryan was signed to a one-year MLS Homegrown contract with the New York Red Bulls. Drew Skundrich
Drew Skundrich (born September 17, 1995) is an American professional soccer player who currently plays for Loudoun United FC in the USL Championship. Career Youth and college Skundrich grew up in Pennsylvania, where he attended Hempfield High School. He played four years of college soccer at Stanford University between 2014 and 2017, where he made 82 appearances, scoring 9 goals and tallying 13 assists. He was captain his junior and senior year. Abdellatif Aboukoura (Arabic: عبداللطيف ابو قورة; born October 16, 2004) is an American professional soccer player who plays for Loudoun United FC in the USL Championship. Florian Valot (born 12 February 1993) is a French professional footballer who plays as a midfielder for USL Championship club Loudoun United FC. Career Early career During his youth years, Valot was a member of the Paris Saint-Germain youth system as well as the Monaco's reserve team for three years. Moses Blessing Nyeman (born November 5, 2003) is a professional soccer player who plays as a midfielder for Loudoun United in the USL Championship. Born in Liberia, he has represented the United States at youth level. Club career Professional Nyeman scored his first professional goal against Louisville City FC on July 29, 2019, for Loudoun United in the USL Championship. Wesley Leggett (born March 16, 2001) is an American professional soccer player who plays as a forward for the USL Championship club Loudoun United FC. Career Youth Leggett attended Princeton Day School where he was a three-year starter serving as captain his senior year. He tallied 22 goals and five assists as a senior after posting 20 goals and four assists as a junior. Keegan Kelly Tingey (born August 17, 2000) is an American soccer player who currently plays for Loudoun United in the USL Championship. Playing career Youth and college Tingey was born in Fresno, California and was raised in Danville where he attended De La Salle High School. Charlotte Independence is an American soccer team based in Charlotte, North Carolina, that plays in the USL League One, the third tier of the American soccer pyramid.
