History First mentions of Loimaa come from the year 1439 but a parish was founded in the area already a decade earlier. The town was founded in its current form in 1876 as the railway between Turku and Toijala was completed. A legend of Prättäkitti is heavily associated with Loimaa. Loimaan kunta (; ; literally "Municipality of Loimaa", until 1921 Loimaa, 1921–1977 Loimaan maalaiskunta; ) is a former municipality of Finland. Prättäkitti
Prättäkitti (also Rättäkitti) was a Finnish fortune teller or a witch from the household of Manninen, Loimaa (present day Ypäjä). Prättäkitti's magical powers are said to come from the fact that when she was born, the person acting as the midwife was a witch herself. Biography Virtually everything about the life of Prättäkitti is unverifiable and open to debate. It is suspected that she lived somewhere in the 17th century but she has also been connected to Ulriikka Justiina, a housewife in the same household in the 19th century. It is said that she was originally from Nousiainen. According to one story, a land-owning farmer, Teppo from Manninen, saw her rowing a boat while visiting Turku and decided to ask her hand in marriage. Ypäjä is a municipalities of Finland, municipality located in the countryside of South-Western Finland. It belongs to the provinces of Finland, province of Southern Finland and the regions of Finland, region of Tavastia Proper. Koski Tl (; ) is a municipality of Finland. It is located in the Southwest Finland region and was part of the former province of Western Finland. The municipality has a population of () and covers an area of of which is water. The population density is . ''Tl'' in the name means the former province of Turku and Pori (). It was attached to the name to distinguish Koski Tl from another municipality named ''Koski'', Koski Hl (''Hl'' for the former province of Häme, ). Marttila (; , i.e. " Saint Martin's") is a municipality of Finland. It is located in the province of Western Finland and is part of the Southwest Finland region. History During the Swedish domestic war regarding who was to be king, an important battle took place here 29 August 1599. Troops under Axel Kurck, supporting king Sigismund were defeated by troops supported duke Karl, soon to be king Karl IX. Karl more or less already ruled Sweden and what is Finland nowadays, and Sigismund were based in Poland. There is a memorial, erected 1934, to be seen in Marttila. An agricultural show OKRA is held in Oripää every two years. History Oripää is named after a nearby hill, ''Orivuori'' (literally the "stallion mountain"), which may also have been called ''Oripää'' ("stallion head") at some point. As a village, Oripää is first mentioned in 1421. It was a part of the Pöytyä parish, but administratively a part of the Kumogård castle fief (''linnalääni/slottslän''), i.e. Satakunta (historical province), Satakunta. Humppila is a municipalities of Finland, municipality of Finland. It is located in the Tavastia Proper regions of Finland, region.
