The Lodi dynasty was an Afghan royal family that ruled Sultanate of Delhi from 1451 to 1526. It was the fifth and final dynasty of the Delhi Sultanate, and was founded by Bahlul Lodi when he replaced the Sayyid dynasty. Lodi Township is a civil township of Washtenaw County in the U.S. state of Michigan. The population was 6,417 at the 2020 census. Communities *Lodi is a historic settlement located within the township. Hugh Crestie made the first land purchase in the area in 1824 in the Michigan Territory. Crestie never settled in the area, while Allen Williams built the first house in 1825. A post office opened on August 29, 1827 and later became the name of the township, which was established in 1834. The community was also known as Lodi Plains and was named after Lodi in the Finger Lakes region of New York, from which many early settlers originated. The post office closed on February 3, 1856. Lodi ( ) is a city in Columbia County, Wisconsin, United States. The population was 3,189 at the 2020 census. Lodi is part of the Madison metropolitan area. History The scenic Town of Lodi area had long been a home of Native Americans before the first settlers, Marston and George Bartholomew, arrived in 1845 and staked their claim. By 1846 a county government was established which created Pleasant Valley Precinct. The Town of Lodi was created in 1849. Isaac Palmer founded the village of Lodi in 1846 in what was then the Pleasant Valley Precinct of the Wisconsin Territory. He named it after Lodi, in Italy. Palmer chose this glaciated valley as the location for the village because of its water power potential. Spring Creek powered a sawmill that year and a grist mill followed in 1850. Lodi ( ) is a village in Harrisville Township, Medina County, Ohio, United States. It is located southwest of the City of Medina along U.S. Route 42. As of the 2020 census, the population was 2,746. History Founded in 1811, Lodi is the oldest settlement in Medina County. It was originally called Harrisville, in honor of Judge Joseph Harris. The community's name echoes that of the city of Lodi in northern Italy, where Napoleon won a victory in 1796. The year of incorporation was 1891. Lodi ( ) is a town in Seneca County, New York, United States. The population was 1,469 at the 2020 census. The Town of Lodi is in the southwest part of the county and is northwest of Ithaca, New York. The town contains a village also named Lodi. Both owe their names to the Italian city of Lodi. History The area was occupied by members of the Seneca tribe until 1779 when the Sullivan Expedition destroyed their villages, including a Seneca orchard at Lodi Point. The town became part of the Central New York Military Tract. The first settler arrived around 1789. In 1799, in the area of Brokaw Road, a group of New Jersey Dutch farmers settled to form a Dutch Reformed community, eventually having two churches.
