Lebanese Basketball League
The Lebanese Basketball League is recognized as the top-tier professional men's basketball list of basketball leagues, league in Lebanon. It is organized annually as a national championship with playoffs and a national cup by the Lebanese Basketball Federation (FLB). Currently, the league consists of #Teams, 12 teams, of which six are located in Beirut. The most successful club in the history of the league is Al Riyadi Club Beirut. History The initial Lebanese basketball league was formed in as early as the 1950s; however, it was stopped during the Lebanese Civil War. In 1992, the league was reformed into its current fully professional format. In 1998, Sporting Al Riyadi Beirut, Sporting Club (Al Riyadi) finished third in the FIBA Asia Champions Cup, that same year Beirut hosted the Arab Club Basketball Championship, Arab Club Championship where Hekmeh BC , Sagesse Club (Hekmeh) won, it was the first ever Arab basketball trophy for Lebanon. Lebanese Basketball Federation
The Lebanese Basketball Federation, known in French language, French as the Fédération Libanaise de Basketball (FLB or FLBB), is the Sports governing body, governing body of basketball in Lebanon. The federation founded in 1947, represents basketball with public authorities as well as with national and international sports organizations and as such with Lebanon in international competitions. It is affiliated with FIBA Asia. The federation also organizes the Lebanon men's national basketball team, Lebanon national basketball team and the Lebanon women's national basketball team. FIBA Asia Champions Cup
The Basketball Champions League Asia (BCL Asia), formerly the FIBA Asia Champions Cup, is an annual continental club men's basketball competition organised by FIBA Asia. It is the highest level club competition for basketball in Asia. Introduced in 1981, as the ''Asian Basketball Club Championship'', the competition rebranded in 2004 to the ''FIBA Asia Champions Cup''. In 2024, the tournament was renamed as the Basketball Champions League Asia. Al Riyadi Club Beirut, Al Riyadi and Sagesse SC (basketball), Sagesse from Lebanon are the most successful teams in the history of the competition with three championships each. CS Maristes, formerly known as Champville Club SC (), is a Lebanese basketball team from Dik El Mehdi, Lebanon. The team competes in the Lebanese Basketball League. Since its establishment in 1967, the team has been affiliated with the Collège Mariste Champville ("Champville"), a private Marist Roman Catholic educational institution. After a disagreement with Champville's management in 2022, the club was renamed CS Maristes. CS Maristes achieved the pinnacle of their success by securing the national championship in 2012. They have also clinched the runner-up position in the league on five occasions. Sagesse Sports Club (French: '' Club Sportif de la Sagesse''), known as Hekmeh in Arabic, is a Lebanese sports club founded in 1943 and is based in Beirut. Homenetmen Beirut (; ), or simply Homenetmen, is the basketball department of Homenetmen, a Lebanese-Armenian multi-sports club based in Beirut, Lebanon. Beirut Club () is a professional basketball team based in Beirut, Lebanon, who plays in the Lebanese Basketball League (LBL), the top-flight of basketball in Lebanon. Home games are played in the Chiyah Stadium. The club was first promoted to the Lebanese Basketball League in 2017, and has played there ever since.
