Lawrenceville is an Unincorporated area#United States, unincorporated community in Henry County, Alabama, Henry County, Alabama, United States. Lawrenceville is located off U.S. Route 431 in Alabama, U.S. Route 431, north of Abbeville, Alabama, Abbeville. History Lawrenceville is named in honor of Joseph Lawrence, who served as the community's first postmaster. He also donated the land for the Lawrenceville Male and Female Academy. A post office operated under the name Lawrenceville from 1849 to 1905. The Lawrenceville Academy was incorporated by the Alabama Legislature on January 22, 1858, even though records show it was in operation prior to 1830. The academy closed during the American Civil War, Civil War and closed permanently in 1888. Lawrenceville is a city in and the county seat of Gwinnett County, Georgia, United States. It is a suburb of Atlanta, located approximately northeast of downtown. It was incorporated on December 15, 1821. As of the 2020 census, the population of Lawrenceville was 30,629. History Lawrenceville was incorporated by an act of the Georgia General Assembly on December 15, 1821. This makes Lawrenceville the second oldest city in the metropolitan Atlanta area. The city is named after Commodore James Lawrence, commander of the frigate '' Chesapeake'' during the War of 1812. The Lawrenceville School is a private, coeducational preparatory school for boarding and day students located in the unincorporated community of Lawrenceville within Lawrence Township in Mercer County, in the U.S. state of New Jersey. Lawrenceville is a member of the Eight Schools Association and the Ten Schools Admission Organization. History 19th century Lawrenceville School was founded in 1810 as the Maidenhead Academy by Presbyterian clergyman Isaac Van Arsdale Brown. One of the oldest preparatory schools in the United States, it has had several names, including Lawrenceville Classical and Commercial High School and Lawrenceville Academy. In 1883, the John Cleve Green Foundation purchased the school from its aging headmaster Samuel Hamill and renamed it The Lawrenceville School. Lawrenceville is an unincorporated community and census-designated place in central German Township, Clark County, Ohio, United States. It is part of the Springfield, Ohio Metropolitan Statistical Area. The population was 302 at the 2000 census, at which time it was a village. In 2005, the residents of Lawrenceville voted to dissolve the corporation, ending Lawrenceville's village status. Transportation and other services must be sought from Springfield. History Lawrenceville was originally known as Noblesville, and under the latter name was platted in 1843. When a post office was established in the community, the original name was changed, there being another post office in the state with a similar name. It is at the intersection of Pennsylvania Route 287 and Pennsylvania Route 49. The only traffic light in town can be found at this intersection. Lawrenceville is on the banks of the Tioga and Cowanesque rivers. The confluence of these streams is just outside downtown Lawrenceville. Lawrenceville is one of the largest neighborhood areas in Pittsburgh in the U.S. state of Pennsylvania. It is located northeast of downtown, and like many of the city's riverfront neighborhoods, it has an industrial past. The city officially divides Lawrenceville into three neighborhoods, Upper Lawrenceville, Central Lawrenceville, and Lower Lawrenceville, but these distinctions have little practical effect.
