This is a list of law enforcement agencies in the U.S. state of Georgia. According to the US Bureau of Justice Statistics' 2008 ''Census of State and Local Law Enforcement Agencies,'' the state had 628 law enforcement agencies employing 26,551 sworn police officers, about 274 for each 100,000 residents. Georgia Ports Authority
The Georgia Ports Authority (GPA) is the port authority for the State of Georgia. It was founded by an act of the Georgia General Assembly in 1945 and chaired by Blake R. Van Leer. The GPA operates all seven of Georgia's rail and sea port facilities. Georgia's primary deepwater ports are located in Savannah and Brunswick, supplemented by three inland container trans-load facilities. Richmond County is located in the state of Georgia in the U.S. As of the 2020 census, the population was 206,607. It is one of the original counties of Georgia, created on February 5, 1777.
