Lakewood is a ghost town in Western Australia, located between Kalgoorlie, Western Australia, Kalgoorlie and Kambalda, Western Australia, Kambalda in the Goldfields-Esperance region of Western Australia. Originally the town was known as Lakeside and in 1903 the local progress association lobbied the government for residential lots to be surveyed. The name Lakeside was not considered, as a town in Queensland with the same name already existed. The name ''Gnumballa'' was considered by the Shire of Boulder, Kalgoorlie Road Board but when the town was gazetted in 1904 it was originally named Ngumballa. The name is Aboriginal Australians, Aboriginal in origin and is the local name for Hannan Lake. The name of the railway station, on the Kalgoorlie to Gnumballa Lake railway line, remained as Lakeside and by 1909 the name of the town was also changed. Lakewood station is a commuter rail station in Lakewood, Washington, United States. It is the terminus of the S Line of the Sounder commuter rail network, operated by Sound Transit in the Seattle metropolitan area. The station, located along Pacific Highway Southwest, includes a 620-stall parking garage and several bus bays served by Intercity Transit and Sound Transit Express. Lakewood station was originally scheduled to open in 2002 as part of a Sounder extension, but plans were delayed due to funding issues and the state government's work on the Point Defiance Bypass project. Construction on the $33 million station and garage began in March 2007 and it opened for use by buses on September 18, 2008. Lakewood / Fort McPherson is a subway station in Atlanta, Georgia, Atlanta and East Point, Georgia, serving the Red Line (MARTA), Red and Gold Line (MARTA), Gold lines of the Metropolitan Atlanta Rapid Transit Authority (MARTA) rail system. Lakewood is a historic antebellum mansion in Livingston, Alabama, United States. The two-and-a-half-story Greek Revival-style house was completed in 1840. The house was recorded by the Historic American Buildings Survey in 1936. It was added to Alabama's Places in Peril in 2012, a listing that highlights significantly endangered properties in the state. History Lakewood was built for Joseph Lake, a native of North Carolina, by Hiram W. Bardwell, a master builder. Construction was completed in 1840.
