Laff (legal name: Laff Media, LLC) is an American digital multicast television network headquartered in Atlanta, Georgia and is owned by the Scripps Networks subsidiary of the E. W. Scripps Company. The network specializes in comedy programming, featuring mainly sitcoms from the 1990s through the 2020s. History Laff's launch was announced by Katz Broadcasting in January 2015 as having a scheduled launch date of , coinciding with Tax Day in the United States; the explanation by Katz is that people needed "something to laugh to" on what they deemed one of the most stressful days of the year. Laff-A-Lympics
''Laff-A-Lympics'' is an American animated comedy television series produced by Hanna-Barbera Productions. The series premiered as part of the Saturday-morning cartoon program block '' Scooby's All-Star Laff-A-Lympics'', which consists of 24 episodes, on ABC on September 10, 1977. The show is a spoof of the Olympics and the ABC primetime series '' Battle of the Network Stars'', which debuted one year earlier. It featured 45 Hanna-Barbera characters organized into teams (the Scooby Doobies, the Yogi Yahooeys, and the Really Rottens) which competed each week for gold, silver, and bronze medals. In each episode, the Really Rottens would try in each event to cheat only to get caught by Snagglepuss each time. One season of 16 episodes was produced in 1977–78, and eight new episodes combined with reruns for the 1978–79 season as '' Scooby's All-Stars''. The original London Australian Film Festival (LAFF) was an annual film festival held at the Barbican Theatre in London, England between 1994 and 2011. It was supported by agencies of the Australian Government. In 2017, the volunteer-run London Australian Film Society founded a new festival, initially named Oz Film Festival, but later renamed London Australian Film Festival (also referred to as LAF Film Festival). Held at three cinemas across London, the 5th edition took place in September 2023. Laff Records
Laff Records was a small American independent record label specializing in mainly African-American comedy and party records founded in 1967 in Los Angeles. Kliph Nesteroff, author of the book ''The Comedians'', wrote that "no other company cranked out as many comedy LPs during the 1970s. While much of its content was undeniably amateurish, it documented a subculture most comedy fans were unaware existed." It is most well known for releasing a series of Richard Pryor albums, mostly without Pryor's participation or approval, which earned the label several Grammy nominations and one win. History Laff Records was founded in 1967 in Los Angeles by jewelry-store owner Lou Drozen; his son David Drozen joined in 1969 as vice president and producer of many of its albums. The Laff Stop
The Laff Stop was a comedy club, with locations in Texas and Montclair, California. History and venues The Laff Stop was created by Michael Callie and originated in Newport Beach, California and featured comics such as Steve Martin, David Letterman, Elayne Boosler, Bill Hicks and Robin Williams. There were also Laff Stop clubs in Montclair, Ca, Palm Springs, CA and Austin, Texas (which changed its name to Cap City Comedy Club in 1996). The location in Houston, Texas was open since 1977, and was one of the most successful clubs through the 1990s. It closed on December 19, 2009, in a surprise announcement. The Houston Laff Stop changed locations a few times during its existence, the last stop becoming an upstairs strip mall location at Waugh and Allen Parkway.
