Kreator Members
Kreator is a German thrash metal band from Essen, formed in 1982. Their current line-up consists of lead vocalist and rhythm guitarist Miland "Mille" Petrozza, drummer Jürgen "Ventor" Reil, lead guitarist Sami Yli-Sirniö, and bassist Frédéric Leclercq. The band's line-up has changed multiple times throughout its -year career, most noticeably with their bassists and lead guitarists. Petrozza and Reil are the only two original members left in Kreator, although the latter had left the band in 1994 but rejoined in 1996. Yli-Sirniö has been the lead guitarist of Kreator since 2001, while Leclercq joined in 2019 as the replacement of Christian "Speesy" Giesler, who had been in the band since 1994. Kreator has released fifteen studio albums, two EPs, two live albums and three compilation albums. Thrash metal (or simply thrash) is an Extreme metal, extreme subgenre of heavy metal music characterized by its overall aggression and fast tempo.Kahn-Harris, Keith, ''Extreme Metal: Music and Culture on the Edge'', pp. 2–3, 9. Sodom (band)
Sodom is a German thrash metal band from Gelsenkirchen, formed in 1982. They have gone through many lineup changes, with bassist/vocalist Tom Angelripper the only constant member. The band is currently composed of Angelripper, guitarists Frank Blackfire, Frank "Blackfire" Gosdzik (who was a member of Sodom from 1987 to 1989 and rejoined in 2018) and Yorck Segatz, and drummer Toni Merkel. Sodom has been referred to as one of the "Big Four" of Teutonic thrash metal, along with Kreator, Destruction (band), Destruction and Tankard (band), Tankard. Sodom heavily influenced the German black metal scene, and is regarded as a pioneer of death metal. Destruction (band)
Destruction is a German thrash metal band formed in 1982. They have been credited as one of the "Big Four" of the Teutonic thrash metal, German thrash metal scene, the others being Kreator, Sodom (band), Sodom and Tankard (band), Tankard. In addition to helping pioneer black metal, Destruction was part of the second wave of thrash metal in the mid-to-late 1980s, along with US bands Testament (band), Testament, Sacred Reich, Death Angel and Dark Angel (band), Dark Angel. This is Kreator's final studio album with bassist Christian "Speesy" Giesler before his departure from the band in 2019. Background It was the band's first studio album in almost five years since 2012's ''Phantom Antichrist'', marking the longest gap between two studio albums, until ''Hate Über Alles'' broke this record in 2022. Phantom Antichrist
''Phantom Antichrist'' is the 13th studio album by German thrash metal band Kreator, released through Nuclear Blast on 1 June 2012. The album entered the US Billboard 200, ''Billboard'' 200 at No. 130, selling 3,900 copies in the first week. Release and promotion The album's title track was released as a limited edition 7" vinyl single, which sold out very quickly. It has since been released digitally. The B-side is a cover of "The Number of the Beast (song), The Number of the Beast" by Iron Maiden. Kreator released a music video for "Civilization Collapse" on 28 November 2012. Coma Of Souls
''Coma of Souls'' is the fifth studio album by German thrash metal band Kreator, released in 1990. It was reissued in 2002, with the lyrics for the last four songs missing from the booklet. ''Coma of Souls'' was Kreator's first release with lead guitarist Frank "Blackfire" Gosdzik (then-formerly of Sodom), and would be the last album before the band began experimenting with influences from other musical genres. It also would be the last record issued in the United States by Epic Records. Release ''Coma of Souls'' was also released in the United States as a limited edition in purple vinyl. Extreme Aggression
''Extreme Aggression'' is the fourth studio album by German thrash metal band Kreator released in 1989. While the band had already gained a sizeable following in the US due to their 1988 tour with the crossover thrash band D.R.I., this album introduced many American fans to Kreator, primarily through heavy rotation of the "Betrayer" music video on MTV's ''Headbangers Ball'', which was partly shot at the Acropolis in Athens, Greece. The beginning of the song "Love Us or Hate Us" was used in an early 1990s promo ad by the Los Angeles radio station KNAC. This was their first album issued in the US by Epic Records. The album was also available on picture disc vinyl. The album's original artwork was that of a man standing in front of a bathroom mirror looking at the reflection of his face falling off, exposing Kreator's mascot demon underneath.
