Kouvot Players
Kouvot is a Finnish professional basketball team based in Kouvola. Founded in 1964, the team plays in the Korisliiga and has won the national championship four times: in 1995, 1999, 2004, and 2016. The team plays at the Mansikka-ahon urheiluhalli. Korisliiga
The Korisliiga is the top-tier professional basketball league in Finland, comprising the top 12 teams of the country. In its current format, each team plays all other teams two times in the regular season, once at home and once away, for a total of 22 regular season games. The top six teams advances continues to upper stage and the bottom six teams plays lower stage after 22 games, 5 games at home and 5 games at away versus all other teams in stage. The best two teams from lower group joins to playoffs with upper group teams. Playoffs are played best of seven format, except the quarter-finals which are played best of 5 format. Pantterit holds the record for the most league titles won, with 14. The top level Finnish league for women is the Naisten Korisliiga. Deshon Davion Taylor (born March 17, 1996) is an American professional basketball player who last played for KTP Basket of the Korisliiga. He played college basketball for the UMKC Kangaroos and Fresno State Bulldogs. High school career Taylor was born in Los Angeles, California, to Desha Taylor and Terri Bailey. He played at John W. North High School in Riverside, California, and helped lead his team to four consecutive league titles. Jason Conley (born July 21, 1981) is an American former professional basketball player. A shooting guard and small forward, Conley is best known for being the first freshman to ever lead NCAA Division I in scoring. Devon Doekele van Oostrum (born January 24, 1993) is a British-Dutch professional basketball player for the RANS Simba Bogor of the Indonesian Basketball League (IBL). Jukka Toijala (born 9 May 1972) is a Finnish professional basketball coach and former player, who is currently working as the assistant coach of the Yokohama B-Corsairs in Japan's B.League. Ilari Seppälä (born 27 March 1993) is a Finnish professional basketball player who plays as a point guard for Hungarian club Kecskeméti TE, and the Finland national basketball team. Henri Mikael Kantonen (born 20 August 1997) is a Finnish professional basketball player who plays as a shooting guard for Korisliiga team Helsinki Seagulls, and the Finland national team. Kantonen started playing basketball in a youth team of Torpan Pojat. Professional career Kantonen has won two Finnish championship titles with Kauhajoki Karhu Basket in 2018 and 2022, during his two stints with the club. Antti Kanervo (born 12 April 1989) is a Finnish professional basketball player for the BC Nokia of the Finnish Korisliiga.
