Kickers Emden
BSV Kickers Emden is a Football in Germany, German association football club, located in Emden, Lower Saxony. History The club first began playing in 1928 as a section of the gymnastics club Emder Turnverein, which was founded in 1861. An independent football club was formed on 24 March 1946 out of the membership of this predecessor side and several other local associations which had been dissolved after World War II. In 1949, the club was promoted to the Amateuroberliga Niedersachsen-West, a second-division league at the time. They went on to finish first in the league at the end of the 1950–51 season and advanced therewith to the promotion play-offs for at the time first-division Oberliga Nord, but did not manage to get promoted. They were only a mediocre team in the Amateuroberliga Niedersachsen-West in the remainder of the decade and eventually slipped down to the fourth-division Verbandsliga Niedersachen-Nord in 1964. Ostfriesland-Stadion
Ostfriesland-Stadion is a multi-use stadium in Emden, Germany. It is used exclusively for Association football, football matches and has been the home stadium of Kickers Emden since 1950. History The current name of the stadium was adopted in 2005 and comes from a local real estate and financial services firm under a sponsorship agreement. Between 1998 and 2005, the venue was named after a former president of the club, Dr. Helmut Riedl, and prior to those years it was simply known as ''Kickers-Stadion''. The stadium is able to hold 12,000 people, which was the largest crowd during a third-division match between Kickers Emden and Hamburger SV's reserve squad on the final day of the 1993–94 season. However, for security reasons, its current capacity for competitive matches is limited to 7,200. Marc Fascher
Marc Fascher (born 4 August 1968) is a German football manager and former player, who last managed Sportfreunde Lotte. Coaching career Fascher began his coaching career with Harburger SC, before being named head coach at SC Concordia in 2000. He coached Concordia for four years before being named as the new head coach of Kickers Emden. In the 2004–05 season, his first with Kickers Emden, he led the club from Oberliga Nord to the Regionalliga Nord. He suddenly resigned his position on 1 June 2007, and after four months without a club he then signed a contract to coach Sportfreunde Siegen. He coached Siegen until 1 May 2008, and then spent seven months without a club. Fascher signed a contract on 23 March 2009 as interim coach at Carl Zeiss Jena for the final four months of the 2008–09 season and was fired on 29 May 2009, after having saved the club from relegation out of the Regionalliga.
