Khostinsky City District
Khostinsky city district () is one of four city districts of the types of inhabited localities in Russia, city of Sochi in Krasnodar Krai, Russia. The city district borders Maykopsky District of the Republic of Adygea in the northeast, Adlersky city district in the southeast, Tsentralny city district, Sochi, Tsentralny city district in the west, and Lazarevsky city district in the northwest. In the southwest, it is bordered by the Black Sea. Population: Geography The district is located on the slopes of the Western Caucasus, which descend to the Black Sea. The coast within the district runs from northwest to southeast. The majority of the population in the districts lives at or close to the seashore, in former settlements later turned microdistricts. Orekhovsky
The Orekhovsky (') is a waterfall in the Sochi National Park. It takes its name from Orekhovka, a settlement in the Khosta District of Sochi. It is located on the Bezumenka stream at its confluence with the Sochi River. Orekhovsky is the second highest waterfall in the city, with a height of 27.5 meters. Sochi National Park
Sochi National Park (, also Sochinsky National Park) is Russia's oldest national park, established on May 5, 1983. It is located in the Western Caucasus, near the city of Sochi, in Southern Russia. Topography Sochi National Park covers within the Western Caucasus World Heritage Site. The park occupies the Greater Sochi area, from the border with the Tuapsinsky District, between the mouths of Shepsi River and Magri River in the north-west, to the border with Abkhazia along the Psou River in the south-east, and between the Black Sea to the water divide crest of the Greater Caucasus. Caucasian Biosphere Reserve
Caucasus Nature Reserve is a Russian ''zapovednik'' (strict ecological reserve) covering a heavily mountainous section of the Northwest Caucasus Mountains. It is the largest and oldest in the territory of specially protected natural area in the Caucasus, having been created in 1924 as the Caucasian Bison Reserve. In 1979, the site was named a UNESCO Biosphere Reserve, and in 1999 included in a UNESCO World Heritage Site. In 2008 it was officially renamed after Khachatur (Christopher) G. Matsesta River
The Matsesta (, ) is a river in Krasnodar Krai, Russia, that flows into the Black Sea. The river rises in the southern ranges of the Alek mountains at an elevation of above sea level and flows through the Khostinsky City District of the city of Sochi and into the Black Sea. It is long, and has a drainage basin of . The highest point in the river's basin is above sea level. The river has numerous tributaries, the largest of which are the Tsanyk and Zmeyka. The Matsesta is most famous for its sources of mineral water. Sochi River
The Sochi () is a river in the city of Sochi in Krasnodar Krai, Russia. It is long, and the area of its basin . Originating at Bolshaya Shura Mountain in the Greater Caucasus Mountains, it flows southwest and enters the Black Sea at Sochi, itself named for the river and site of the 2014 Winter Olympic Games. It is the third longest river in Sochi after the Mzymta and the Shakhe. Shakhe River
The Shakhe (; Adyghe: ), also known as the Golovinka () is a river in Khostinsky and Lazarevsky City Districts of the city of Sochi, Krasnodar Krai in Russia. It flows down the slopes of the Western Caucasus to the Black Sea. It is long, and the area of its basin . Its main tributary is the Bzych (left). The Shakhe is the second longest river of Sochi, next to the Mzymta. Almost the whole course of the Shakhe, with the exception of the proximity to the sea, lies within Sochi National Park.
