Kericho County
Kericho County is one of the 47 counties in Kenya. The county seats between longitude 35°02' and 35°40' East and between the equator and latitude 0°23' South with an altitude of about 2002m above sea level. It borders Uasin Gishu County to the North, Baringo County to the North-East, Nandi County to the North-West, Nakuru County to the East and Bomet County to the South, Kisumu County to the Northwest and Nyamira County to the West. It had a population of 901,777 (2019 census) and an area of 2,111 km². Its capital and largest town is Kericho. Kericho County is home to the largest Kenyan tea plantations. Some of the largest tea companies including Unilever Kenya, James Finlay and Williamson Tea are based here. It is also home to the popular Ketepa brand. Counties Of Kenya
The counties of Kenya () are geographical units created by the Constitution of Kenya, 2010 Constitution of Kenya as the new units of devolution, devolved government. They replaced the previous Provinces of Kenya, provincial system. Aaron Cheruiyot
Aaron Kipkirui Cheruiyot, MGH (born 23 February 1986) is a Kenyan politician. He was elected as senator for Kericho County succeeding Charles Keter who had resigned to take up a cabinet portfolio. He was elected Majority Leader of the senate in 2022. Early years and education Aaron Cheruiyot was born in 1986. He grew up in Kericho County. He undertook his primary and secondary education at Unity Primary school and Kericho High School respectively, before proceeding to Moi University in Eldoret where he acquired a BA degree specialising in Language and Literary studies. Paul Chepkwony
Paul Chepkwony (born in Ainamoi, Kenya) is a Kenyan politician and professor. He was the governor of Kericho County in Kenya. Chepkwony is a member of Jubilee Party. Education Chepkwony finished from Kericho High School in 1988. In 1989 he enrolled at Jomo Kenyatta University of Agriculture and Technology and in 1992 he graduated with a bachelor's degree in Chemistry. In 1993 he attended the University of Nairobi and graduated with Masters in Chemistry in 1996. He again attended Jomo Kenyatta University of Agriculture and Technology in 1999 and in 2002 he finished with a PhD in organic chemistry. Career Chepkwony began his career as a lecturer at Moi University, where he served for four years. In 2009 he was made an associate professor at Moi University. Belgut Constituency
Belgut is an electoral constituency in Kenya. It is one of six constituencies of Kericho County. The constituency was established for the 1963 elections. A new Constituency Sigowet-Soin was curved out of this Constituency in 2013 after the promulgation of the new constitution (2010). It spans the area that lies between the Kericho Kisumu highway to the East and the Chemosit(Sondu Miriu) River to the west. It occupies the land mass between Kericho, Sondu and Kabianga towns.
