''Kanał'' (, ''Sewer'') is a 1957 Polish film directed by Andrzej Wajda. It was the first film made about the 1944 Warsaw Uprising, telling the story of a company of Home Army resistance fighters escaping the Nazi onslaught through the city's sewers. The film is adapted from the story “They Loved Life” by Jerzy Stefan Stawinski. ''Kanał'' is the second film of Wajda's War Trilogy, preceded by '' A Generation'' and followed by '' Ashes and Diamonds''. ''Kanal'' () is a 2015 Indian Malayalam-language thriller film, directed by M. Padmakumar and written by S. Suresh Babu. The film stars Mohanlal and Anoop Menon in lead roles. Kanal ( or ; , ), frequently referred to as Kanal ob Soči ("Kanal on the Soča"; or ; ), is a settlement mostly on the left bank of the Soča River in the Slovene Littoral, the traditional region in southwestern Slovenia.
