K.V. Oostende
Koninklijke Voetbalclub Oostende, also called KV Oostende () or KVO, was a Belgian professional association football, football club based in Ostend, West Flanders. The team was founded in 1904 as ''VG Oostende'' and had Football in Belgium#Matricule numbers, ''matricule'' number 31. The club was declared bankrupt in June 2024. History In 1911, another club was created, A.S.V. Oostende K.M., AS Oostende, which would soon become the best club of the city, playing regularly in the Belgian Second Division, second division in the 1930s. In the mid-1970s, AS reached the Belgian Pro League, first division while VG was playing at the second level. The two clubs merged in 1981 to become KV Oostende. The new club played in the third division for eleven years, before finally being promoted. Batimont Solar Park is a multi-use stadium in Ostend, Belgium. It is mostly used for football (soccer), football matches and was the home ground of K.V. Jean-Marie Pfaff
Jean-Marie Pfaff (born 4 December 1953) is a Belgian former professional footballer who played as a goalkeeper and spent most of his professional career with Beveren and Bayern Munich. Pfaff was capped 64 times playing for Belgium, and participated at the 1982 FIFA World Cup and 1986 FIFA World Cup tournaments. Dennis Johannes van Wijk (; born 16 December 1962) is a Dutch association football, football coach and former football player. Van Wijk was a left-back who began his career in the youth system of Ajax Amsterdam. He was unable to break into the first team and joined Norwich City F.C. in 1982. He spent four years at Carrow Road and was a member of the Norwich teams that won the EFL Cup, English League Cup in 1985 and the Second Division Championship in 1986. Nedeljko "Ned" Bulatović (19 April 1939 – 11 May 2023) was a Serbian football player and manager. Playing career Bulatović played as a midfielder for Vojvodina, Enschedese Boys, Twente, NEC, Sittardia and Fortuna SC. Belgian Second Division Final Round
The Belgian Second Division play-offs were a series of playoff matches to decide promotion to the Belgian Pro League, organised between 1974 and 2015. Following a large reform of the Belgian football league system at the end of the 2015–16 season, the play-offs were no longer held. In the earlier years these play-offs were contested by teams of the Belgian Second Division but since 2009 also a team from the Belgian Pro League took part. Four teams normally played these play-offs, with the winner being promoted to (or avoiding relegation from) the Belgian Pro League. The 2012–13 season of the Belgian Second Division (also known as Belgacom League for sponsorship reasons) began on 22 August 2012 and ended in April 2013. The season was won by Oostende, who were thus promoted to the Belgian Pro League. Mouscron-Péruwelz, Westerlo and WS Woluwe played the second division final round but lost this to Cercle Brugge, resulting in no other team gaining promotion. 2016–17 Belgian Cup
The 2016–17 Belgian Cup, called the Croky Cup for sponsorship reasons, is the 62nd season of Belgium's annual football cup competition. The competition began on 30 July 2016 and is scheduled to end with the final in March 2017. The winners of the competition will qualify for the 2017–18 UEFA Europa League Group Stage. Standard Liège were the defending champions, but were eliminated in the 6th round by ASV Geel. Competition format The competition consists of ten rounds. Except for the semi-finals, all rounds are single-match elimination rounds. When tied after 90 minutes in the first three rounds, penalties are taken immediately. The Belgian Cup (; ; ) is the main knockout football competition in Belgium, run by the Royal Belgian FA. The competition started in 1908 with provincial selections as the "Belgian Provinces Cup". Starting from 1912 only actual clubs were allowed to partake. As of 1964, the Belgian Cup has been organised annually. K.V. Diksmuide-Oostende, formerly K.S.V. Diksmuide, is a Belgian football club from Oostende, previously Diksmuide. The club is affiliated with the Royal Belgian Football Association under matricule number 1972, which it retained following its merger and currently play in Belgian Division 2, the fourth tier of Belgian football.
