Jharkhand Vikas Morcha (Prajatantrik) (JVM (P)) ( 'Jharkhand Development Front (Democratic)') was a state political party in the Indian state of Jharkhand which was founded by former Third Vajpayee ministry, Union Minister and List of Chief Minister of Jharkhand, First Chief Minister of Jharkhand, Babulal Marandi. Formation The party's formation was announced by Marandi at Hazaribagh on 24 September 2006. Marandi was earlier a member of the Bharatiya Janata Party, but he quit in mid-2006 because he felt he was being sidelined in the party. Six JVM(P) MLAs on 11 Feb 2015 joined the BJP, a day after petitioning the Speaker to allow them to sit alongside the ruling BJP-led coalition members in the state Assembly. Babulal Marandi
Babulal Marandi (; born 11 January 1958) is an Indian politician and a prominent tribal leader of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) . He is currently the Leader of Opposition in Jharkhand legislative assembly. He was the first Chief Minister of Jharkhand and the founder of Jharkhand Vikas Morcha (Prajatantrik), which he later merged with BJP. He was the Member of Parliament in 12th, 13th 14th and 15th Lok Sabha from Jharkhand. He was also the Union State Minister (MoS) for Forests & Environment of India in the BJP – led National Democratic Alliance Government in 1998 to 2000. 2009 Indian General Election
General elections were held in India in five phases between 16 April 2009 and 13 May 2009 to elect the members of the fifteenth Lok Sabha. With a registered electorate of 716 million and a turnout of 417 million voters, it was the largest democratic election in the world until being surpassed by the 2014 general election. Bandhu Tirkey is an Indian politician from Jharkhand. He is a former Member of Jharkhand Legislative Assembly from Mandar Assembly constituency representing Jharkhand Vikas Morcha (Prajatantrik) in 2019. Raghubar Das
Raghubar Das (born 3 May 1955) is an Indian politician who has served as the 26th governor of Odisha since 2023 until 2024. Das has previously served as the sixth chief minister of Jharkhand from 2014 to 2019. He is a member of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) and has twice served as the President of BJP Jharkhand.
