Japanese Idol
An is a type of entertainer marketed for image, attractiveness, and personality in Japanese popular culture, Japanese pop culture. Idols are primarily singers with training in other performance skills such as acting, dancing, and modeling. Idols are commercialized through merchandise and endorsements by Talent agent, talent agencies, while maintaining a parasocial relationship with a financially loyal consumer fan base. Japan's idol industry first emerged in the 1960s and became prominent in the 1970s and 1980s due to television. During the 1980s, regarded as the "Golden Age of Idols", idols drew in commercial interest and began appearing in commercials and television dramas. As more niche markets began to appear in the late 2000s and early 2010s, it led to a significant growth in the industry known as the "Idol Warring Period." Akishibu Project
is a Japanese idol girl group. They aim to "bring the cultures of Shibuya and Akihabara together". The group was formed by a former member of BiS and there are currently eight active members. The group performs regularly at TwinBoxAkihabara, in addition to performing live concerts in and outside of Japan. The group performed in Thailand at Japan Expo 2016. Masaki Aiba
(born December 24, 1982) is a Japanese singer, actor, television personality, radio host and dancer. He is a member of the boy band Arashi. Aiba began his career in the entertainment industry when he joined the Japanese talent agency Johnny & Associates in 1996 at the age of 13. Prior to his debut as a singer with Arashi in 1999, Aiba started an acting career when he was cast as the lead role of Gordie for the stage play ''Stand by Me'', which was based on the film of the same name. Shoko Aida
is a Japanese singer and actress. She was a member of the J-pop duo Wink (duo), Wink, after which she became a solo artist. Career She debuted as a member of the J-pop duo Wink (duo), Wink. She began working as a solo artist on 1 April 1996, one month after Wink dissolved. She collaborated with Kaori Iida from Morning Musume for one DVD and one photobook in 2004. Yumi Adachi
is a Japanese actress and singer. Personal life Adachi married comedian Jun Itoda of the comedy duo "Speed Wagon" in September 2005, they later welcomed their first child, a daughter, in May of the following year. The two announced their divorce in 2009. In November 13, 2014, Adachi married photographer Tomoki Kuwajima. In February 2016, she announced her second pregnancy and Kuwajima's first child, and she later gave birth on July 29 of the same year. Shizue Abe
Shizue Abe (あべ静江, ''Abe Shizue'', born November 28, 1951, in Matsusaka, Mie, Japan) is a Japanese actress and singer. Biography Shizue Abe debuted as an idol with the song ''"Coffee Shop De"'' (At The Coffee Shop) in May 1973. It was written by famous Japanese lyricist Yū Aku. The song sold over 280,000 copies and rose to the #9 position on the Oricon chart list. It earned her a nomination for "''Best Newcomer of the Year''" at the 15th Japan Record Awards, but was beaten by Junko Sakurada. Her second single, ''"Mizuiro no Tegami"'' (The Lightblue Letters), rose to the #7 position on the Oricon chart list, selling over 260,000 copies. Natsumi Abe
is a Japanese singer and actress, a former member of Morning Musume, and a member of Dream Morning Musume. Biography She was born in Muroran, Hokkaidō, Japan. Career On August 13, 2003, she released her first single, "22 Sai no Watashi," which means "Me, 22 years old," just a few days after her 22nd birthday. Her first full-length album, ''Hitoribotchi'', was then released on February 4, 2004, containing many solo versions of Morning Musume songs. In August 2005, her fifth single, "Koi no Hana," which means "Flower of Love," was released, and she also became a member of the Hello! Asami Abe
is a former Japanese singer and actress, also known as the younger sister of Japanese singer and actress Natsumi Abe. She started her career doing commercials for Nintendo Puzzle Collection, and she has also appeared in a few TV dramas. Biography Following in her sister's footsteps, Abe hit the music scene in 2003 and has achieved some success. Her debut single was "Riyū" which was released in June of that year. To date she has released a total of six singles, one novel, two full albums, three photobooks, and has also starred in three movies and two TV dramas. Ayumikurikamaki
are a Japanese idol group. It consists of singer "Ayumi", DJ "Kurika" and hype-woman "Maki". The three girls are managed by Id Entertainment agency. History 2012: Origins and formation Kurika and Maki met as high-school classmates in Kobe prefecture, and started out as a DJ unit Kurikamaki (くりかまき) in January, 2012. Since the Japanese abbreviation of their name makes the word "kuma", which means bear in Japanese, they dress up in bear costumes and claim to be 3-year-old bears. Arashi
is a Japanese boy band consisting of five members formed under the Johnny & Associates talent agency. The members are Satoshi Ohno, Sho Sakurai, Masaki Aiba, Kazunari Ninomiya, and Jun Matsumoto. Arashi officially formed on September 15, 1999, in Honolulu, Hawaii, and made their debut CD on November 3, 1999. The group was initially signed to Pony Canyon and released one studio album and six singles—beginning with their 1999 eponymous debut single before moving to the Johnny's subsidiary label J Storm in 2001, which was initially set up for their succeeding releases.
