Janakpur Zone
Janakpur ( ) was one of the fourteen zones of Nepal, reaching from the Indian border in the south to the Tibetan border in the north and Sagarmatha Zone in the east and Bagmati and Naryani Zones in the west. The headquarters of Janakpur Zone and its main city was Janakpur. Close to the Indian border, it is a historic city of Hinduism. The city is believed to have been the capital city of King Janaka, the father-in-law of Lord Rama, the son of the then king of Ayodhya, Dasharatha. The city was then called 'Mithila Nagari'. The name of Janakpur zone is related to the historic King Janaka and his capital Janakpur. Other cities within Janakpur Zone are Kamalamai (in Inner Terai), Manthali (in Hill & Terai), Bhimeshwor (in Himalaya) and Bardibas, Dhalkebar, Jaleshwor, Malangwa, Hariwan, Lalbandi, Gaushala Bazar and Matihani (Outer Terai). Until the establishment of seven new provinces in 2015, Nepal was divided into 14 administrative zones ( Nepali: अञ्चल; ''anchal'') and 77 districts ( Nepali: जिल्ला; ''jillā''). Hariwan or Harion () is a town and municipality in Nepal, located in Sarlahi District. Malangwa
Malangwa (Devanagari: मलंगवा) is a town, a municipality, and the headquarter of Sarlahi District in Madhesh Province of Nepal. The district's oldest municipality is in Parliamentary Constituency 2. From the Mahendra Highway south of Nawalpur, a small highway-side town. Situated at an altitude of above sea level, Malangwa is near the Indian border at Sonbarsa. There is a customs checkpoint at the border crossing. Etymology Its name is derived from Malang Baba, a saint who is worshipped by both Hindus and Muslims. Jaleshwar () is a municipality in Janakpur Zone, Nepal, and the headquarters of Mahottari district of Madhesh Province in Nepal. Manthali, Ramechhap
Manthali is a municipality and the headquarters of Ramechhap District in Bagmati Province, Nepal. It was established on 2 December 2014 by merging the former village development committees Old-Manthali, Bhatauli, Chisapani, Kathjor, Bhaluwajor, Salupati and Sunarpani. It was declared the headquarters of the district on 9 March 1989 (26 Falgun 2045 BS). It lies on the bank of the Tamakoshi River. At the time of the 2011 Nepal census, it had a population of 45,416 people, living in 10,099 individual households. History Manthali had nine wards previously when it was still a VDC (Village Development Committee). Inner Terai Valleys Of Nepal
The Inner Terai Valleys of Nepal comprise several elongated river valleys in the southern lowland Terai part of the country. These tropical valleys are enclosed by the Himalayan foothills, viz the Mahabharat Range and the Sivalik Hills farther south.
