Irish Tenors
The Irish Tenors are a singing trio from Ireland that was started in 1998 by a group of television producers for a PBS special ''The Irish Tenors''. They have since recorded five PBS specials and eight albums. The group's members are Declan Kelly, Anthony Kearns and Ronan Tynan. History Daniel Harte and Bill Hughes formed the idea of a trio of Irish tenors during the Cannes film festival. Harte and Hughes wanted to produce a television special and first approached Ireland's Finbar Wright (one of Ireland's leading romantic tenors) in 1998 to join the group, but Wright's recording contract with Sony BMG prohibited such a venture. Then they invited Canadian balladeer John McDermott to head up the group and he accepted. After conferring with Ireland's leading vocal coach, Dr. Veronica Dunne, classically trained singers Anthony Kearns and Ronan Tynan were asked to join. Finbar Wright
Edward Finbar Wright (born 26 September 1957), known popularly as Finbar Wright, is a popular music singer, songwriter, and poet from County Cork, Ireland. Wright is a classically trained tenor who emerged during the 1990s in Ireland and has become one of that country's "most popular singers", concentrating on romantic, jazz and pop standards for the adult contemporary audience. Referred to as one of Ireland's great romantic singers, his first album, ''Because'' in 1991 reached the top of the Irish music charts. Wright's second recording, ''Whatever You Believe'', also reached the top of the Irish charts with triple platinum certification and produced the number 1 hit single, "Whatever You Believe", now a Christmas favourite in Ireland. Celine Byrne
Celine Byrne (born 3 May 1980 in Kildare) is an Irish soprano. Career She first saw opera live at Milan's La Scala when she worked there as an au pair after leaving school. She then decided she wanted to be an opera singer and upon her return home began her first singing lessons age 18. Byrne received her master's degree in music from the Royal Irish Academy of Music in 2007, where she studied with Veronica Dunne, also receiving the RIAM Award for Outstanding Achievement. Lucia Evans (born 6 February 1982) is an Irish-Zimbabwean singer and winner of the 2006 season of the talent show ''You're a Star''. Career Though originally from Bulawayo in Zimbabwe, Evans is now living in Galway, Ireland, working as a full-time vocal coach. Evans's first single, "Bruised Not Broken", written by Don Black, Wayne Hector and Phill Thornalley and produced by Paul Staveley O'Duffy, was released on Universal Records and entered the Irish Singles Chart at number five on 20 April 2006. Rebecca Storm is a British singer and musical theatre actress. Best known for her role as Mrs Johnstone in smash hit musical Blood Brothers. Her 1985 hit single "The Show" was the theme to the ITV television series '' Connie''. Early career Rebecca Storm found her passion for singing when she was 11, although she began singing nine years earlier. After studying Music and Drama at Leeds University, Storm toured the United Kingdom and mainland Europe with her own band singing folk and rock songs. Peter Grant (born 1987 in Leeds, Yorkshire, England) is an English singer of easy listening and jazz music. Life and career Peter Grant began singing at the age of six and played at working men's clubs from the age of 12. He grew up in Guiseley, north-west of Leeds, West Yorkshire, and was a pupil at Guiseley High School.
