InterLiga
InterLiga was an association football competition and the qualification method between eight Mexican clubs to determine two clubs qualified for the Copa Libertadores, it was held from 2004 to 2010. History From 1998 to 2003, the Mexican clubs competed in the Pre-Libertadores tournament as its qualification method, which consisted in two rounds. The first round called Selectivo Pre Pre-Libertadores was played between Mexican clubs, two clubs advanced to the next round called Liguilla Pre-Libertadores against two clubs from Venezuela, the four clubs faced each other to determine the last two spots for the Copa Libertadores. In 2004, Mexico and Venezuela were granted automatic entries to the Copa Libertadores for the first time. The Mexican Football Federation, FMF decided to create a national qualifying tournament for its last two spots, and the first InterLiga was held that January in the United States, during the off-season of the Primera División. 2009 InterLiga
The 2009 InterLiga was the 6th edition of the tournament that determined the last two Mexican spots in the 2009 Copa Libertadores. 2008 InterLiga
The tournament was held between January 2 and January 12, 2008. Eight teams competed for two Copa Libertadores 2008 spots in this tournament. Venues Qualification Once the 2006- 07 season was ended, the clubs that participate in the InterLiga were defined: 2006–07 standings Group stage Group A * Due to Atlas and Toluca being equal in Wins, Losses, Goals For and Against and Points. The way they decided who qualified to the final round was by a flip of a coin, which was done by Bruno Marioni of Atlas with a sinco peso coin. 2005 InterLiga
For 2005, Mexico was granted a third berth in the Libertadores. The Mexican federation decided to grant one of its Libertadores berths ("Mexico 1") based strictly on play during the league season, but retained InterLiga for the other two spots ("Mexico 2" and "Mexico 3"). The group phase of InterLiga remained the same as in 2004, but the final games were changed. The top team from each group plays the second-place team from the opposite group, with both winners advancing to Copa Libertadores. Of the two final winners, the one with the highest point total during group play will be designated "Mexico 2" and automatically advance to the group stage. The other final winner will be "Mexico 3", and will enter the preliminary round of Copa Libertadores. The 2005 InterLiga was again played in California and Texas, and expanded into Arizona. 2010 InterLiga
The 2010 InterLiga was the seventh and last edition of the tournament. It determined the last two Mexican berths in the 2010 Copa Libertadores. The qualified teams were the eight best-positioned teams in the 2009 Apertura general table who did not qualify for the 2010 Copa Libertadores directly (Morelia, San Luis, and Guadalajara) and did not qualify for the 2009–10 CONCACAF Champions League from the previous season (Toluca, Cruz Azul, Pachuca, and UNAM). America was originally set to participate in the 2006 InterLiga tournament, but their 2005 clausura championship qualified the team for the 2006 CONCACAF Champions' Cup. Therefore, the club was replaced by Cruz Azul. Pre-Libertadores tournament was an association football competition and the qualification method between two clubs from Venezuela and two clubs from Mexico to determine two clubs qualified for the Copa Libertadores, it was held from 1998 to 2002. The tournament consisted of two rounds, the first preliminary round known as Selectivo Pre Pre-Libertadores played between Mexican clubs interested in participating, and the final round known as Liguilla Pre-Libertadores played between two Venezuelan clubs and the best two Mexican clubs from the first round. Tecos Fútbol Club, simply known as Tecos, is a Mexican professional Association football, football club based in Zapopan, Jalisco, and associated with the Universidad Autónoma de Guadalajara (UAG). The Mexican Football Federation (), abbreviated as FMF is the official governing body of football in Mexico.
