Indspire
Indspire, formerly known as the National Aboriginal Achievement Foundation (NAAF), is a national Indigenous registered charity that invests in the education of Indigenous people for the long-term benefit of these individuals, their families and communities, and Canada. About Indspire disburses financial awards, delivers programs and shares resources with the objective of increasing graduation rates for Indigenous students. Indspire serves First Nations, Inuit, and Métis students in remote communities, rural areas and urban centres across Canada. On September 18, it was announced Mike DeGagne would replace Roberta Jamieson to become the president and CEO of Indspire. DeGagne formerly was the President of Yukon University and Nipissing University. Yukon University
Yukon University (formerly Yukon College) is a public university in the Canadian territory of Yukon. The university main campus is based in Whitehorse, although the institution also operates 12 campuses throughout the territory. The university confers bachelor's degrees, diplomas, certificates as well as trades and vocational training and adult basic education. The institution is currently the only university based in northern Canada. The institution traces its origins to the Whitehorse Vocational and Technical Training Centre established in 1963; it was renamed as the Yukon Vocational and Training Centre in 1965. Nipissing University is a public university located in North Bay, Ontario, Canada. The campus overlooks Lake Nipissing. History Northeastern University (1960–1967) The roots of Nipissing University date back to 1947, when residents of North Bay formed a committee with the goal of establishing a university within the city. The 1958 Northeastern University Committee continued their efforts in the following years. Aboriginal Peoples Television Network (APTN) is a group of Television in Canada, Canadian Specialty channel, specialty television channels based in Winnipeg, Manitoba. The channels broadcast programming produced by or highlighting Indigenous peoples in Canada, including arts, cultural, documentary, entertainment, and news and current affairs programming.
