Indonesian Idol
''Indonesian Idol'' is an Indonesian reality television singing competition created by Simon Fuller and produced by RCTI Production Team and FremantleMedia Asia. The show began airing on RCTI in March 2004 and became one of the most popular shows in the history of Indonesian television. Part of the ''Idol'' franchise, it was as a spin-off from the UK show ''Pop Idol''. The concept of the series is to find new solo recording artists where the winner is determined by the viewers. Through telephone calls, SMS text, and the RCTI+ app voting, viewers have chosen 13 winners to date: Joy Tobing, Mike Mohede, Ihsan Tarore, Rini Wulandari, Januarisman, Igo Pentury, Regina Ivanova, Nowela Auparay, Maria Simorangkir, Lyodra Ginting, Rimar Callista, Salma Salsabil, and Shabrina Leanor (listed in chronological order). Simon Fuller
Simon Robert Fuller (born 17 May 1960) is a British entrepreneur, artist manager, and film and television producer. He is the creator of the Idols (franchise), ''Idols'' TV format, including the British series ''Pop Idol'' and the American series ''American Idol''. Fuller came to prominence in the 1990s for managing the British girl group the Spice Girls, and he has since managed acts in various fields of entertainment, from sports stars David Beckham and Lewis Hamilton to other musicians such as Amy Winehouse and Annie Lennox. Since 2020, Fuller has been working with tech firm TikTok to aid development of new TikTok creatives and in the same year he announced a partnership with Verizon Communications to develop 5G content. Ari Lasso
Ari Bernardus Lasso (born 17 January 1973) is an Indonesian singer of Minahasan and Toraja origin. Songwriter, musician, and former lead vocalist of Dewa 19. Biography Lasso was born in Madiun, East Java on 17 January 1973 to Bartholomeus B. Lasso and Sri Noerhida. His mother told him that he could become a famous singer, saying that " islife should be beautiful" because of his voice. While attending high school at SMA Negeri 2 Surabaya, he established the Outsider Band along with the drummer Wawan Juniarso, from Dewa 19, and guitarist Piyu of Padi. After graduating from high school, he attended Airlangga University and earned a degree in economics. Short Message Service, commonly abbreviated as SMS, is a text messaging service component of most telephone, Internet and mobile device systems. It uses standardized communication protocols that let mobile phones exchange short text messages, typically transmitted over cellular networks.
