Incheon
Incheon is a city located in northwestern South Korea, bordering Seoul and Gyeonggi Province to the east. Inhabited since the Neolithic, Incheon was home to just 4,700 people when it became an international port in 1883. As of February 2020, about 3 million people live in the city, making it South Korea's third-most-populous city after Seoul and Busan. Incheon International Airport is the main international airport serving Seoul, the capital of South Korea. It is also one of the largest and busiest airports in the world. Incheon Bridge
The Incheon Bridge () is a reinforced concrete cable-stayed bridge in South Korea. At its opening in October 2009, it became the second bridge connection between Yeongjong Island and the mainland of Incheon. The Incheon Bridge is South Korea's longest spanning cable-stayed bridge. In comparison, it is the world's sixteenth longest cable-stayed bridge as of January 2019. The bridge provides direct access between Songdo and Incheon International Airport, reducing travel time between them by up to one hour. The section of the bridge crossing the sea, whose concessionaire is Incheon Bridge Corporation, is funded by the private sector. Jung District, Incheon
Jung District () is the historic central ward of the city of Incheon, South Korea, one of the eight wards into which Incheon is divided. Its name means "central" in Korean. It was founded in 1883 on the opening of the Jemulpo Port and contains several historical and cultural heritage monuments, such as Dap-dong Cathedral, Hongyemun Gate, The First Anglican Church, and Jayu Park, Korea's first modern park. Songdo International Business District
Songdo (), officially known as Songdo International Business District (Songdo IBD), is a smart city built on of reclaimed land along Incheon's waterfront, southwest of Seoul, South Korea. It is connected to Incheon International Airport by a reinforced concrete highway bridge called Incheon Bridge. Along with Yeongjong and Cheongna, it is part of the Incheon Free Economic Zone. The Songdo smart city features amenities across the district. Homages of architectural hallmarks, including New York City's Central Park and Venice's waterways, will also be incorporated. Jayu Park
Jayu Park (), also known as Freedom Park, is an urban park located in Incheon, South Korea. Established in 1888, it is the first Western-style park of Korea. Description The park is located on a bluff overlooking the city's harbor. Prominently placed is a statue of general Douglas MacArthur. The park also houses a number of other statues, a small zoo, and a memorial to the Joseon–United States Treaty of 1882. The park is also renowned for its cherry blossom blooming season.
