IPB University (, abbreviated as IPB; former English name: Bogor Agricultural University in the city of Bogor) is a state-run agricultural university based in the regency of Bogor, Indonesia. IPB has long been considered one of the "Big 5" universities in Indonesia, along with University of Indonesia, Bandung Institute of Technology, Gadjah Mada University and Airlangga University. Golkar Party
The Party of Functional Groups (), often known by its abbreviation Golkar, is a centre to centre-right big tent secular nationalist political party in Indonesia. Founded in 1964 as the Joint Secretariat of Functional Groups (, Sekber Golkar), it is the oldest extant political party in Indonesia. It first participated in national elections in 1971 as Functional Groups. Since 2009, it has been the second-largest party in the House of Representatives (DPR), having won 102 seats in the latest election. Golkar was the ruling political group during the New Order government of Suharto from 1971 to 1999, when it was required to become a political party in order to contest elections. The House of Representatives of the Republic of Indonesia (, DPR-RI or simply DPR) is one of two elected chambers of the People's Consultative Assembly (MPR), the national legislature of Indonesia. It is considered the lower house, while the Regional Representative Council (DPD) serves as the upper house; while the Indonesian constitution does not explicitly mention the divide, the DPR enjoys more power, privilege, and prestige compared to the DPD. Muhammad Iqbal Assegaf (, ; October 12, 1957 – February 13, 1999) was an Indonesian political activist. Based on the results of the 9th Indonesian Islamic Student Movement congress (PMII IX congress) in Hajj Dormitory Surabaya, East Java, Iqbal was appointed as chairman of the executive board of the Indonesian Islamic Student Movement (PB PMII) period 1988–1991 replacing Suryadharma Ali. After leaving the position as Chairman of PB PMII, he was immediately appointed as chairman of the Board of Trustees PB PMII in the next period, 1991–1994. Hasjrul Harahap
Hasjrul Harahap (18 November 1931 – 7 February 2014) was an Indonesian politician and government official. Harahap served as the Minister of Forestry from 1988 to 1993 under former President Suharto. Harahap was born on 18 November 1931. He was raised in Sipirok, North Sumatra. Harahap received a doctorate of science in 2004 from Bogor Agricultural University at the age of 73. He was the oldest student to receive a doctorate from the university. Harahap had defended his doctoral dissertation, "The Influence of Lead Pollution from Vehicles and Land on Tea Plants and Quality." He had researched the levels of lead pollution found in the roots of tea plants grown in the Puncak region of West Java: the Gunung Mas, Malabar, and Sidamanik tea plantations.
