The Istituto per le Applicazioni del Calcolo Mauro Picone (), abbreviated IAC, is an applied mathematics institute, part of the Consiglio Nazionale delle Ricerche. It was founded in 1927 as a private research institute by Mauro Picone, and as such it is considered the first applied and computational mathematics institute of such kind ever founded. Historical notes The IAC was founded 1927 by Mauro Picone, while working at the University of Naples Federico II and at the Istituto Universitario Navale as professor of infinitesimal calculus. Luigi Amoroso also contributed to the founding of the institute, by providing to his former '' Normale'' schoolfellow Picone the funding for the creation of the Institute by means of the Banco di Napoli. Mauro Picone (2 May 1885 – 11 April 1977) was an Italian mathematician. He is known for the Picone identity, the Sturm-Picone comparison theorem and being the founder of the Istituto per le Applicazioni del Calcolo, presently named after him, the first applied mathematics institute ever founded.See , , and the references cited in this latter one. INAC Kobe(INAC神戸レオネッサ, Ainakku-Kōbe Reonessa) is a professional Japanese women's soccer, football club from Kobe, founded in 2001. INAC stands for International Athletic Club, while Leonessa means Lioness in Italian language, Italian. In 2006 INAC Leonessa was promoted to the L. League, Nadeshiko.League, where it has played since 2020. In 2021 they are playing in WE League. The 2008 season marked a great leap for the team as it was the runner-up both in the L.
