Hoofdklasse Seasons
The Vierde Divisie (; "Fourth Division"), formerly known as Hoofdklasse () is the second-highest league of amateur football in the Netherlands, and the fifth tier in general. Background The league was divided into two sections: Saturday and Sunday. This was a result of the traditional pillarisation (), the segregation of Dutch society. The ''Saturday'' clubs are mainly Protestant Christian clubs, who were not allowed to play on Sunday. The ''Sunday'' clubs were in general Catholic and working class clubs, whose players had to work on Saturday and therefore could only play on Sunday. Although the pillarisation ended in the 1960s and 1970s, the clubs and the league maintained this division until 2023. Derde Divisie
The Derde Divisie (; ), formerly known as Topklasse (; ), is the fourth tier of football in the Netherlands, which had its inaugural season as a third tier in 2010–11 and as a fourth tier in 2016–17. The league is placed between the Tweede Divisie and the Vierde Divisie (formerly Hoofdklasse), the third and fifth tiers of Dutch football, respectively. The introduction of the then Topklasse resulted from discussions between the Royal Dutch Football Association, the ''Coöperatie Eerste Divisie'' (the clubs in the Eerste Divisie) and the ''Centraal Overleg Hoofdklassers'' (the clubs in the Hoofdklasse). Background A national football competition in the Netherlands was established in 1956. De Treffers
De Treffers is an amateur football club from Groesbeek, Netherlands. The club plays in the Tweede Divisie, the highest amateur league of Dutch football. History It was founded in 1919, and its first chairman was Jan Piepenbreier. De Treffers has been a member of the Royal Dutch Football Association since around 1930. In the seasons 1935–1936 and 1936–1937 it was champion of the eastern district of the Eerste Klasse (First amateur league), at the time the highest league in Dutch amateur football. In both seasons De Treffers failed to win the national amateur championship. After the Second World War De Treffers performed less well. SV TOP
SV TOP is a football club from Oss, Netherlands. SV TOP plays in the 2017–18 Sunday Eerste Klasse C. History TOP had a short spell in professional football from 1955 until 1957. First 1 year in the Eerste Klasse, which can be compared to the Eerste Divisie nowadays, and 1 year in the Tweede Divisie before voluntary rejoining the amateur ranks. In 1986 the club became Sunday amateur champions and in 1991 the club became pro again in a separate organization. The professional branch was renamed into TOP Oss in 1994 and renamed once again into FC Oss in 2009. For more details see FC Oss. Sportvereniging Spakenburg is a association football, football club based in Bunschoten, Bunschoten-Spakenburg, Netherlands, that competes in the Tweede Divisie, the third tier of the Dutch football league system. Delfia Hollandia Combinatie, commonly known as DHC, is a football club from Delft, Netherlands. DHC is currently playing in the Sunday Hoofdklasse A League (4th tier). History DHC played professional football from 1955 to 1968. The club played its first year in the Eerste Klasse, which was later changed to Eerste Divisie. DHC finished bottom of the league in their first season of professional football and were relegated to the newly established Tweede Divisie. RKC Waalwijk () is a Dutch professional association football, football club based in Waalwijk. XerxesDZB is a Dutch association football, football club based in Rotterdam. History The club was founded in 1904 as RFC Xerxes and their first regional championship was won in 1907. After a second championship in 1911 the club was promoted to the second class (tweede klasse) of Dutch football. In 1925 Xerxes reached the Cup-final, they lost the final with 5-1 from ZFC.
