Honolulu Rail Transit
Skyline is a rapid transit system in the City and County of Honolulu on the island of Oʻahu, in the state of Hawaiʻi. Phase 1 of the project opened June 30, 2023 and lies entirely outside of the Urban Honolulu census-designated place, linking East Kapolei (on the ʻEwa Plain) and Aloha Stadium. Phase 2, connecting to Pearl Harbor and Daniel K. Inouye International Airport before reaching Middle Street, is scheduled to open October 1, 2025. The final phase, continuing the line across Urban Honolulu to Downtown, is due to open in 2031. Its construction constitutes the largest public works project in Hawaiʻi's history. Hālawa Station
Hālawa station (also known as Aloha Stadium station) is a Skyline (Honolulu), Skyline metro station in Halawa, Hawaii, Hālawa, Hawaiʻi, serving Aloha Stadium, Aiea, Hawaii, ʻAiea, Salt Lake, Hawaii, Salt Lake, and Moanalua. The station is located alongside Kamehameha Highway above its intersection with Salt Lake Boulevard. It serves as the eastern terminus of the current rail system and opened on June 30, 2023. The station has a 590-space park and ride lot. As the eastern terminus, buses provide services along the future right of way via the adjacent bus bay. Eileen Anderson
Eileen Anderson (October 18, 1928 – November 3, 2021) was an American politician who served as Mayor of Honolulu, Hawaii from 1981 to 1985. She was the first, and as of 2024, the only woman to hold the office. A Democrat, Anderson served in various positions in the city and county and the state. She was the first Hawaii State Director of Budget and Finance. The 2016 Honolulu mayoral election determined the Mayor of Honolulu, Mayor of the City and County of Honolulu for the full term commencing in January 2017. The 2012 Honolulu mayoral election was held on Tuesday, November 6, 2012, to elect the Mayor of Honolulu, Mayor of the City and County of Honolulu.
