Korean Dance
Dance in Korea began with shamanistic early rituals five thousand years ago and now ranges from folk dance to newly created and adopted contemporary dance. Overview Korean traditional dance originated in ancient shamanistic rituals thousands of years ago. By the time of the later Korean kingdoms, Goryeo and Joseon, in the 2nd millennium AD, Korean traditional dance benefited from regular support of the royal court, numerous academies, and even an official ministry of the government. A number of different dances gained permanent high status, including the hermit dance, the ghost dance, (fan dance), (monk dance), the (entertainer dance) and others, despite the fact that many had humble origins. Taean
Taean County (; ) is a county in South Chungcheong Province, South Korea. Taean Haean National Park is located within Taean County, and is known for its clear seas, unpolluted soils, coastal flora, tidal flats, coasts, and white sand. It includes thirty different beaches; one of these, Mallipo Beach, is considered one of the three most beautiful in Korea and is over three kilometers long. This beach is also the site of the 2007 Korea oil spill. The Korean government designated Taean Haean National Park in 1978. It consists of of land. There are about 130 islands in the park, and 250 species of flora thrive there. Born into a noble family, Kim was educated at a military academy shortly before the Japanese annexation of Korea. After spending three years in prison for freeing his family's slaves, he joined the Korean independence movement and went to Manchuria to fight against the Empire of Japan. There he established the Northern Military Administration Office and trained Korean soldiers in guerrilla warfare, before going on to lead the Korean Independence Army to victory in the Battle of Cheongsanri. He then co-founded the Korean Independence Corps and went to Siberia, but was forced back to Manchuria following the Free City Incident.
