Bohol (), officially the Province of Bohol (; ), is an island province of the Philippines located in the Central Visayas region, consisting of the island itself and 75 minor surrounding islands. It is home to Boholano people. Its capital is Tagbilaran, the largest city of the province. Buenavista, Bohol
Buenavista, officially the Municipality of Buenavista (; ), is a municipality in the province of Bohol, Philippines. According to the 2020 census, it has a population of 29,711 people. Buenavista is from Tagbilaran. Buenavista celebrates its fiesta on October 7, to honor the town patron Santo Rosario. History Pangpang was the original name of the place, located between the municipalities of Getafe and Inabanga. During Spanish period, Pangpang is part of Getafe in civil aspect but part of Inabanga in religious aspect. Later, it was named Buenavista which means beautiful view in Spanish, and further divided into barangay Buenavista Norte and Buenavista Sur. Bien Unido, officially the Municipality of Bien Unido (; ), is a municipality of the Philippines, municipality in the Philippine Province, province of Bohol, Philippines. According to the 2020 census, it has a population of 26,666 people. Batuan, officially the Municipality of Batuan (; ), is a municipality of the Philippines, municipality in the Philippine Province, province of Bohol, Philippines. According to the 2020 census, it has a population of 13,845 people. Batuan covers a total area of comprising fifteen barangays as per the Municipal Comprehensive Development Plan for 1983–1992. Balilihan, officially the Municipality of Balilihan (; ), is a municipality in the province of Bohol, Philippines. According to the 2020 census, it has a population of 18,694 people. History The place is a panorama of verdant hills, rugged mountains and green fields. It is said to have been so named because of the grass ''"balili"'' which grew in abundance. Before the beginning of the 19th century, Balilihan was a barrio of Baclayon and an old settlement. When the Dagohoy revolt was suppressed by the Spaniards, the authorities established a garrison in Datag (one of its barrios) to discourage and stamp out further uprisings on the part of the natives. Baclayon, officially the Municipality of Baclayon (; ), is a municipality in the province of Bohol, Philippines. According to the 2020 census, it has a population of 22,461 people. It is the home town of actor Cesar Montano, and physicist Caesar Saloma. The town of Baclayon, Bohol celebrates its feast on December 10, to honor the town patron Immaculate Conception. Antequera, officially the Municipality of Antequera (; ), is a municipality in the province of Bohol, Philippines. According to the 2020 census, it has a population of 14,990 people. Popular places of interest in Antequera are the weekly basket market and Mag-Aso Falls.
