Helvetia Cup
The Helvetia Cup or European B Team Championships was a European mixed team championship in badminton. The first Helvetia Cup tournament took place in Zurich, Switzerland in 1962, when it was still known as the Nations Cup (). The tournament took place every two years from 1971 until 2007, after which it was dissolved. Badminton
Badminton is a racquet sport played using racket (sports equipment), racquets to hit a shuttlecock across a net (device), net. Although it may be played with larger teams, the most common forms of the game are "singles" (with one player per side) and "doubles" (with two players per side). Badminton is often played as a casual outdoor activity in a Yard (land), yard or on a beach; professional games are played on a rectangular indoor court. Points are scored by striking the shuttlecock with the racquet and landing it within the other team's half of the court, within the set boundaries. Each side may only strike the shuttlecock once before it passes over the net. Czechoslovakia National Badminton Team
The Czechoslovakia national badminton team () represented Czechoslovakia in international badminton team competitions. The Czechoslovakian team competed in the 1991 Sudirman Cup before the nation was split into the Czech Republic and Slovakia. It was controlled by the Czechoslovak Badminton Association (Czechoslovak: ''Československý Bedmintonový Sväz''). The Czechoslovakian team also once competed in the Helvetia Cup. 1969 Helvetia Cup
The 1969 Helvetia Cup was the eighth edition of the Helvetia Cup mixed team badminton tournament. Prague was announced as the host for the Helvetia Cup after Oslo in 1968. West Germany won their eighth consecutive title by defeating the Netherlands 4–3 in the final. In the playoff for third place, Austria defeated Czechoslovakia 6–1. In the classification round, Wales defeated Norway 6–1 for fifth place while Finland defeated Switzerland for seventh place. Tournament The 1969 Helvetia Cup was scheduled to be held from 26 to 27 April 1969. Eight countries competed in the tournament, with Wales making their first ever appearance in the tournament. Norway National Badminton Team
The Norway national badminton team () represents Norway in international badminton team competitions. It is controlled by the Norwegian Badminton Association. Norway participated in the Sudirman Cup until 2007. The national team have never qualified nor competed in the Thomas Cup and the Uber Cup. Norway is also a medal contender in para-badminton. The nation has won a few gold medals at the BWF Para-Badminton World Championships, with most medals being won by para-badminton player Helle Sofie Sagøy. The 1968 Helvetia Cup was the seventh edition of the Helvetia Cup mixed team badminton tournament. In October 1967, the Norwegian Badminton Federation announced that the next two Helvetia Cup tournaments would be held in Oslo and Prague. West Germany won their seventh consecutive title by defeating hosts Norway 5–2 in the final. In the playoff for third place, the Netherlands defeated Austria 6–1. In the classification round, Belgium defeated Finland 4–3 for fifth place while Switzerland defeated Czechoslovakia for seventh place.
