As being part of the Cotswold-Severn Group, Cotswold-Severn group of long barrows, it dates back to approximately 3700-3600 BCE and is deemed a notable archaeological site owing to its well-preserved structure that helps researchers gain insight into early farming communities during prehistoric British society. Hazleton North has undergone a major archaeological excavation starting from 1979 to 1982. Findings obtained from excavation offered direct evidence of kinship-based burial practices, revealing one of the earliest known family trees from DNA analysis. Hazleton Abbey was an abbey at Hazleton Manor Farm, just outside Rodmarton in Gloucestershire, England. It was formed in the 12th century. Monks from Kingswood Abbey bought the land after King Stephen had confiscated it from Reginald de Waleric. Ownership was disputed and Reginald de Waleric was ordered to found a Cistercian Abbey by the Pope and allowed the monks to return. A shortage of water meant that they later moved to Tetbury. Hazleton is a town in White River Township, Gibson County, Indiana, United States. The population was 263 at the 2010 census making it the second smallest community in the county. While having almost no connection to it, it is part of the Evansville, Indiana, Metropolitan Area. History Hazleton is the second-oldest town in Gibson County after Patoka. It was named in honor of Gervas Hazleton, believed to be the second settler to permanently locate to the county. Hazleton first lived in a crude camp lit by large log fires that was a popular stopover for early migrants to the area. The town was platted in 1856 by Lucius French. T. S. The Hazleton Hawks were a professional basketball franchise in the Eastern Professional Basketball League. The Hawks, based in Hazleton, Pennsylvania, joined the league in 1955, playing as the "Hazleton Professionals"; they were named the "Hawks" in their second season in the league. In the team's first season, the franchise went through several different lineups and two coaching changes, but later made the playoffs by signing several players who had been part of the college point-shaving scandals, including Sherman White of Long Island University, Bob McDonald of Toledo University, and Ed Warner of CCNY.
