Hayes Football Club was an English association football club based in Hayes, Middlesex. In 2007 the club merged with Yeading to form Hayes & Yeading United. History left, Botwell Mission, in 1910/11 Hayes were formed in 1909 by Eileen Shackle, who wished to create a club to encourage boys to participate in sport as well as encourage their religious convictions. Their original name, ''Botwell Mission'', derived from the fact that they changed at the small mission church and stored their kit there. The club adopted the name Hayes F.C. after a special general meeting of the club took place on 30 January 1929. The team nickname, ''The Missioners'', was a salute to the history of the team The club was runner-up in the FA Amateur Cup to Wycombe Wanderers in 1931. Bertrand Bossu (born 14 October 1980) is a French former professional footballer who played as a goalkeeper. After his retirement from playing, he worked as a goalkeeping coach. Jason Andre Davis Roberts MBE (born 25 January 1978) is a former professional footballer who is now Chief Football Development Officer at CONCACAF. Born in Park Royal, London, Roberts was playing football from an early age, and spent time in the youth academies at several professional clubs, but was not retained. After a spell in non-league football with Hayes, he joined Wolverhampton Wanderers in 1997. He failed to make a first-team appearance for Wolves, and had loan spells at Torquay United and Bristol City before signing for Bristol Rovers in 1998. He quickly established himself in the first team, scoring 38 goals in his two seasons at the club. After the club failed to gain promotion, Roberts handed in a transfer request and was sold to West Bromwich Albion in July 2000. Cyrille Regis (9 February 1958 – 14 January 2018) was a professional footballer who played as a forward. His professional playing career spanned 19 years, where he made 614 league appearances and scored 158 league goals, most prolifically at West Bromwich Albion and Coventry City. Leslie Ferdinand (born 8 December 1966) is an English football coach, former professional footballer and television pundit. Robin Friday (27 July 1952 – 22 December 1990) was an English association football, footballer who played professionally as a forward (association football), forward for Reading F.C., Reading and Cardiff City F.C., Cardiff City during a career that lasted four years in the mid-1970s. earning the nickname "lower league George Best,". His on-field performances were regarded as excellent, and he won Reading's player of the year award in both of his full seasons there, as well as being the leading goal scorer. However, his habit of unsettling opponents through physical intimidation contributed to a heavily tarnished disciplinary record, and his personal life was one of heavy smoking, drinking, womanising and drug abuse.
