Hayatabad
Hayatabad is a suburb on the western outskirts of Peshawar, the capital of the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province of Pakistan. It borders the now defunct Federally Administered Tribal Areas, Tribal Areas and is close to Torkham, Pakistan, Torkham, which is the major border crossing point between Pakistan and Afghanistan. The suburb is one of the most developed residential societies of Peshawar, and is home to several of its educational, sports and health institutions. Hayatabad is named after Hayat Sherpao, a Pakistani Pashtoon politician. Geography Hayatabad was developed as a residential area in Peshawar in the late 1970s. Primarily residential, it also contains an Industrial Park, Industrial Estate. The government has divided Hayatabad into seven numbered phases. Each phase is subdivided into lettered sectors, A to H. Hayatabad Medical Complex
The Hayatabad Medical Complex is a large medical complex and hospital located in the Hayatabad suburb of Peshawar in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Pakistan. The second largest hospital in the city, it is a medical postgraduate training centre. The hospital provides medical and surgical specialties in the fields of Optometry, Cardiology, Paediatrics, Physiotherapy, Plastic Surgery, Psychiatry, as well as Dentistry, Dermatology, Orthopedic and Spine Surgery, PEADS, Pulmonology, and Human Nutrition. Apart from the western parts of Peshawar, the hospital also serves patients coming from surrounding regions and neighboring Afghanistan for treatment. Tatara Park (, ) is a recreational park located in Phase 1, Hayatabad, Peshawar. Tatara Park has been developed from a garden lawn with man-made lakes, into a theme park. Hayat Mohammad Khan Sherpao (; 1 February 1937 – 8 February 1975), simply known as Hayat Sherpao, was a left-wing intellectual and socialist, who served as the 15th Governor of North West Frontier Province (now the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province) of Pakistan, as well as vice-chairman of Pakistan People's Party. Sherpao held important executive offices, including serving as the Interior minister and had held a number of provincial ministries of the North West Frontier Province.
