Hart Family
The Hart wrestling family, sometimes known as the Hart dynasty, is a mainly Canadian family with a significant history within professional wrestling. The patriarch of the family was wrestling legend Stu Hart (1915–2003). An amateur and professional wrestling performer, promoter and trainer, Stu owned and operated his own wrestling promotion, Stampede Wrestling. He also trained some of the most well known stars in wrestling history including "Superstar" Billy Graham, Fritz Von Erich, Chris Benoit, and his own sons Bret Hart and Owen Hart. All of Stu's eight sons were wrestlers and two of them, Bret and Owen, achieved considerable fame and success in the World Wrestling Federation (WWF, now WWE), with many of the WWF's biggest storylines in the mid-1990s being built around Bret and Owen and their brothers-in-law. Donald Stewart (North Dakota Politician)
Donald Stewart, born around 1832 in Scotland was a politician who served in the North Dakota House of Representatives. Career He was at one point an assisting county surveyor and later became a twice elected as a territorial legislator in Bismarck. In the 1889 election he received 1615 votes. After serving four years he found himself tired of all the local political disputes and he retired from politics and moved with his family to Saskatoon, Canada. Personal life Stewart originally emigrated from Scotland to Ontario, Canada and then to North Dakota. Later on he moved to Saskatchewan, Canada, where he stayed and owned a farm. Harry Smith (athlete)
Harry James Smith (July 30, 1888 – November 20, 1962) was an American long-distance runner. He was most notable for competing in the 1912 Olympics in Stockholm. He was also the father of Hart wrestling family matriarch Helen Hart and the father-in-law of Stu Hart. Early life He was born in the Bronx, New York, and was of Anglo-Irish descent. Smith came from a relatively well off family and had a brother named Frank. Both of them suffered from bipolar disorder. His athletic interest began when he was a child. At the age of 12 Smith was playing craps with some friends in an alley when a police officer spotted them and ran after them, attempting to arrest them for illegal gambling. Roderick George Toombs (April 17, 1954 – July 31, 2015), better known as "Rowdy" Roddy Piper, was a Canadian professional wrestler and actor. Benjamin Bassarab (born March 3, 1960) is a Canadian former bodybuilder and professional wrestler, best known for his appearances for Stu Hart's Stampede Wrestling promotion throughout the 1980s.
