Extreme Championship Wrestling
Extreme Championship Wrestling (ECW) was an American professional wrestling promotion that was based in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, and operated by its parent company HHG Corporation. The promotion was founded in 1992 by Tod Gordon as National Wrestling Alliance (NWA) affiliate Eastern Championship Wrestling. The following year, businessman and wrestling manager Paul Heyman took over the creative end of the promotion from Eddie Gilbert (wrestler), Eddie Gilbert. Under Heyman, the promotion was rechristened as Extreme Championship Wrestling. Hardcore Heaven (1996) was the third Hardcore Heaven professional wrestling event produced by Extreme Championship Wrestling (ECW). The event was a supercard that took place on June 22, 1996, in the ECW Arena in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. Ten professional wrestling matches were contested on the card. In the main event, Sabu defeated Rob Van Dam in their third singles encounter after trading wins in highly acclaimed matches earlier in the year. On the undercard, Tommy Dreamer defeated Brian Lee in a weapons match, Raven defeated Terry Gordy to retain the ECW World Heavyweight Championship, Chris Jericho defeated Pitbull #2 to capture the ECW World Television Championship, marking Jericho's first championship win in the United States, and Taz faced mixed martial artist Paul Varelans in a bout, which was promoted as being a legitimate contest. Mark LoMonaco (born July 14, 1971), known by his ring name Bubba Ray Dudley (also spelled Buh-Buh Ray Dudley), is an American Professional wrestling, professional wrestler. He is signed to WWE under a legends contract. Peter Senerchia (born October 11, 1967), better known by the ring name Taz (also spelled Tazz), is an American radio personality, color commentator, and retired professional wrestler signed to All Elite Wrestling (AEW) as a color commentator for ''AEW Dynamite'' and manager. Nesheiwat Convention Center (formerly the Mid-Hudson Civic Center) is a venue located in Poughkeepsie, New York, consisting of Mair Hall (a concert and convention hall) and the McCann Ice Arena (an ice skating venue).
