Abdomen
The abdomen (colloquially called the gut, belly, tummy, midriff, tucky, or stomach) is the front part of the torso between the thorax (chest) and pelvis in humans and in other vertebrates. The area occupied by the abdomen is called the abdominal cavity. In arthropods, it is the posterior (anatomy), posterior tagma (biology), tagma of the body; it follows the thorax or cephalothorax. In humans, the abdomen stretches from the thorax at the thoracic diaphragm to the pelvis at the pelvic brim. The pelvic brim stretches from the lumbosacral joint (the intervertebral disc between Lumbar vertebrae, L5 and Vertebra#Sacrum, S1) to the pubic symphysis and is the edge of the pelvic inlet. The betting during each deal is simple : all players decide whether they are "in" or "out", and announce this at the same time. Each deal has its own showdown, after which the losers match or increase the pot, which grows rapidly. A round of the game ends when only one person stays in and wins the pot. Gut Records was a British independent record label, based in Maida Vale in London, England. Formed in 1991, Gut was founded by Guy Holmes, who had been Head of Promotions at Island Records. The first single released on the label, Right Said Fred's song, " I'm Too Sexy", became a worldwide hit. In August 2008, the company went bankrupt and its assets were sold to Phoenix Music International Ltd. Gut (band)
Gut is a German grindcore band, often credited as the "fathers of pornogrind". The group was founded in 1991 and is known for their over-the-top vocals and morbid, pornographic imagery. The band is also noted for its members performing in masked outfits, which became something of a staple in the pornogrind genre thereafter. On Gut's 2006 release, ''The Cumback 2006'', the band began combining grindcore with elements of hip hop, hardcore punk, and electronic music. In 2020, after a long period of inactivity, Gut returned once again with a third album ''Disciples of Smut'' released on Splatter Zombie Records. Richard Laymon
Richard Carl Laymon (January 14, 1947 – February 14, 2001) was an American author of suspense and horror fiction, particularly within the splatterpunk subgenre. Life and career Laymon was born and raised outside of Chicago, Illinois, then lived in Tiburon, California, as a teen. He graduated from Redwood High School, then pursued a BA in English Literature from Willamette University in Oregon and an MA in English Literature from Loyola University in Los Angeles. His works include more than sixty short stories and more than thirty novels, a few of which were published under the pseudonym Richard Kelly. Twenty of his stories were published as part of the Fastback Mystery series—single short stories released in book form. Early in his career, Laymon found greater commercial success in the United Kingdom and Europe, despite praise from prominent writers from within the genre, including Stephen King and Dean Koontz. ''Haunted'' is a 2005 novel by Chuck Palahniuk. The plot is a frame story for a series of 23 short stories, most preceded by a free verse poem. Each story is followed by a chapter of the main narrative, as told by a character in that narrative, and ties back into the main story in some way. Typical of Palahniuk's work, the dominant motifs in ''Haunted'' are sexual deviance, sexual identity, desperation, social distastefulness, disease, murder, death, and existentialism. ''Guts'' is a 2019 American graphic novel written and illustrated by Raina Telgemeier and colored by Braden Lamb. The book received positive reviews from critics, who praised Telgemeier's normalization of mental health problems. The book also received two Eisner Awards. Background As with the 2 other books in the ''Smile'' series, ''Guts'' is an autobiographical novel detailing events of Telgemeier's life. In an interview with Reading Rockets, Telgemeier explains that originally, she did not want to write about her belly problems as she thought it would be too "gross" and "disgusting".
