Green Brothers
The Green brothers, John Green, John (born 1977) and Hank Green, Hank (born 1980), are two American entrepreneurs, social activists, authors, and YouTube vloggers. The two have collaborated extensively throughout their public careers, beginning with a daily vlog project in 2007 titled "Brotherhood 2.0", in which they only communicated in vlogs posted to YouTube for a year. The Greens' portfolio of online work now includes their main Vlogbrothers channel, ''Crash Course (YouTube), Crash Course'', ''SciShow'', their podcast ''Dear Hank & John'', and several other projects spanning several forms of media. Both brothers have found success individually. John has written several books which have received widespread acclaim and popularity, including ''The Fault in Our Stars''. William Henry Green II (born May 5, 1980) is an American YouTuber, science communicator, novelist, Stand-up comedy, stand-up comedian, and entrepreneur. He produces the YouTube channel Vlogbrothers with his older brother, author John Green, and hosts the educational YouTube channels Crash Course (YouTube), ''Crash Course'' and ''SciShow''. It was independently released on YouTube from June 16, 2006, to August 1, 2008, and was also briefly released on Revver and Myspace. The series revolves around the initially mundane life of homeschooled 16-year-old Bree Avery ( Jessica Lee Rose), who uses the username Lonelygirl15 online. She goes on the run with her friend Daniel ( Yousef Abu-Taleb) after her parents' mysterious religion is revealed to be The Order, a blood-harvesting operation that wants her "trait positive" blood. Nerdfighteria ( ) is a mainly online-based community subculture that originated on YouTube in 2007, when the VlogBrothers (John Green, John and Hank Green) rose to prominence in the YouTube community. As their popularity grew, so did coverage on Nerdfighteria, whose followers are individually known as Nerdfighters. The term was coined when John saw a copy of the arcade game ''Aero Fighters'' and misread the title as ''Nerd Fighters''. Hank Green describes it as "a community that sprung up around our videos, and basically we just get together and try to do awesome things and have a good time and fight against world suck". He defines "world suck" as "the amount of suck in the world".
