Governors Of Odisha
The Governor of Odisha is the head of the Indian state of Odisha. The Governor (India), governors have similar powers and functions at the state level as those of the president of India at central level. They exist in the States of India, state appointed by the president of India and they are not local to the state that they are appointed to govern. The factors based on which the president evaluates the candidates is not mentioned in the Constitution of India, constitution. Edward Albert Gait
Sir Edward Albert Gait (1863–1950) was an administrator in the Indian Civil Service who rose to serve as Lieutenant-Governor of the Bihar and Orissa Province in the Bengal Presidency of British India. He held that office for the years 1915–1920, with a brief absence during April–July 1918 when Edward Vere Levinge officially acted in the position. Life and career Gait graduated from University College, London. He sat the competitive examination for the Indian Civil Service in 1882 and was subsequently appointed, arriving in India on 11 December of that year. He served as assistant commissioner in Assam, and then from 1890 as provincial superintendent for the 1891 census in that region. Chandulal Madhavlal Trivedi
Sir Chandulal Madhavlal Trivedi (2 July 1893 – 15 March 1980) was an Indian administrator and civil servant who served as the first Indian governor of the state of Punjab (then East Punjab) after Independence in 1947. He subsequently served as the first Governor of Andhra Pradesh from its creation in 1953 until 1957. Life and early career Trivedi was born and raised in Kapadvanj in Kaira (now Kheda) District, then in the Bombay Presidency of British India and now in Gujarat. Sir William Hawthorne Lewis, KCSI, KCIE (29 June 1888 – 19 October 1970) was a member of the Indian Civil Service who served as the governor of Odisha from 1941 to 1946. Sir John Austen Hubback, KCSI (27 February 1878 – 8 May 1968) was a British administrator in India who was the first Governor of Odisha. Educated at Winchester College and King's College, Cambridge, Hubback entered the Indian Civil Service in 1902. Sir James David Sifton, KCSI, KCIE (17 April 1878 – 1952) was a British civil servant who was the Governor of Bihar and Orissa from 7 April 1932 to 31 March 1936 and then Governor of Bihar from 1 April 1936 to 10 March 1937. He was the first Governor of Bihar after division of province from Orissa. He was a member of the Imperial Civil Service appointed in 1902 and served in Bengal and later in Bihar and Orissa Province.
