Operação Prato
Operation Saucer (; literally, ''Operation Saucer'') was an investigation carried out between 1977 and 1978 by the Brazilian Air Force following alleged Unidentified flying object, UFO sightings on the island Colares, Pará, Colares. The investigation was closed after finding no unusual phenomena. History Precedent events In 1977, numerous UFOs were reported on the Brazilian island Colares, Pará. Local residents claimed that scars on their bodies were caused by the lights in the sky, and named the lights "Chupa Chupa" (literally ''Sucker-Sucker'', local name for a "Lollipop"). Believing it would keep the lights away, residents of Colares organized night vigils, lit fires, and ignited fireworks. Mayor José Ildone Favacho Soeiro requested help from the Air Force. The Operation The operation was commanded by Captain Uyrangê Bolivar Soares Nogueira de Hollanda Lima. During late 1977, several pictures of lights were recorded but the military remained skeptical. After approximately ...

Project Blue Book
Project Blue Book was the code name for the systematic study of unidentified flying objects (UFOs) by the United States Air Force from March 1952 to its termination on December 17, 1969. The project, headquartered at Wright-Patterson Air Force Base, Ohio, was initially directed by Captain Edward J. Ruppelt and followed projects of a similar nature such as Project Sign established in 1947, and Project Grudge in 1949. Project Blue Book had two goals, namely, to determine if UFOs were a threat to national security, and to Scientific method, scientifically analyze UFO-related data. Thousands of UFO reports were collected, analyzed, and filed. As a result of the ''Condon Committee, Condon Report'', which concluded that the study of UFOs was unlikely to yield major scientific discoveries, and a review of the report by the National Academy of Sciences, Project Blue Book was terminated in 1969. The Air Force supplies the following summary of its investigations: By the time Projec ...

Uruguayan Air Force Commission For The Reception And Investigation Of Complaints Of Unidentified Flying Objects (CRIDOVNI)
Uruguayans () are people identified with the country of Uruguay, through citizenship or descent. Uruguay is home to people of different ethnic origins. As a result, many Uruguayans do not equate their nationality with ethnicity, but with citizenship and their allegiance to Uruguay. Colloquially, primarily among other Spanish-speaking Latin American nations, Uruguayans are also referred to as "'' orientals s in Easterners'" (). Uruguay is, along with much of the Americas, a melting pot of different peoples, with the difference that it has traditionally maintained a model that promotes cultural assimilation, hence the different cultures have been absorbed by the mainstream. Uruguay has one of the most homogeneous populations in South America; the most common ethnic backgrounds by far being those from Spain, Italy, Germany and France i.e. Spanish Uruguayans, Italian Uruguayans, German Uruguayans, French Uruguayans and Polish Uruguayans. Immigration waves Most Uruguayans des ...

NASA's UAP Independent Study Team
The NASA Unidentified Anomalous Phenomena Independent Study Team (UAPIST) was a panel of sixteen experts assembled in 2022 by the United States National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA) and chaired by David Spergel to recommend a roadmap for the analysis of unidentified anomalous phenomena (UAPs) by NASA and other organizations. UAPs are defined as phenomena or observations of events in the air, sea, space, and land that cannot be identified as aircraft or as known natural phenomena. The acronym ''UAP'' seeks to provide separation from the assumptions about extraterrestrial life and other associations in popular culture with the older acronym ''Unidentified flying object, UFO'' ("unidentified flying object"). ''UAP'' originally stood for "unidentified aerial phenomena", but was expanded at the end of 2022 to mean "unidentified anomalous phenomena". To complete their work, the independent NASA team identified how data gathered by civilian, commercial, and government ent ...
