The Gerald Loeb Award is given annually for multiple categories of business reporting. The first television awards were given for "Network and Large-Market Television" (1997, 1999–2000), "Other TV Markets" (1997), and "Television" (2001–2002). Gerald Loeb Award
The Gerald Loeb Awards, also referred to as the Gerald Loeb Awards for Distinguished Business and Financial Journalism, is a recognition of excellence in journalism, especially in the fields of business, finance and the economy. The award was established in 1957 by Gerald Loeb, a founding partner of E.F. Hutton & Co. Loeb's intention in creating the award was to encourage reporters to inform and protect private investors as well as the general public in the areas of business, finance and the economy. Gerald Loeb Loeb first became known for his book ''The Battle for Investment Survival'', which was popular during the Great Depression and is still considered a classic. Born in 1899, Loeb began his investing career in 1921 in the bond department of a brokerage firm in San Francisco, California. He moved to New York in 1921 after joining with E. F. John Larson (journalist)
John Barry Larson (born July 22, 1948) is an American politician and businessman serving as the U.S. representative for since 1999. The district is based in the state capital, Hartford. A member of the Democratic Party, Larson chaired the House Democratic Caucus during the 111th and 112th United States Congress. Early life, education, and career Larson was born in Hartford, but has spent most of his life in nearby East Hartford. He grew up in a public housing project. Brian Elliot Ross (born October 23, 1948) is an American investigative journalist who served as the Chief Investigative Correspondent for ABC News until 2018. He reported for '' ABC World News Tonight with David Muir'', ''Nightline'', ''Good Morning America'', ''20/20'' and ABC News Radio. Ross joined ABC News in July 1994 and was fired in 2018. Rome John Hartman III is an American television journalist and producer. Early life and education Hartman was born on August 11, 1955, in West Palm Beach, Florida. He attended Catholic primary and high school in West Palm Beach and graduated from Duke University in 1977 with a BA in political science.
