Geffen Records (formerly The David Geffen Company from 1980 to 1992 and Geffen Records Inc. from 1993 to 2004) is an American record label, founded in late 1980 by David Geffen. Originally a music subsidiary of the company known as Geffen Pictures, it is owned by the Interscope Geffen A&M (IGA), a unit of Interscope Capitol Labels Group, owned by Universal Music Group. Geffen has been a part of IGA since 1999 and has been used by Universal Music as a syndicating division of Interscope Records, serving its purpose to operate as a premier label for many new releases since 2003 and its 2017 reboot. Myron Lavell Avant (born April 26, 1978), mononymously known as Avant, is an American Contemporary R&B, R&B singer. He is known for his songs "Separated (song), Separated", "Read Your Mind", and "Makin' Good Love". He has produced three Platinum-selling albums. He has released 15 singles and 9 albums. Early life and education Avant was born in Cleveland, Ohio, the youngest of five siblings. He did not belong to a wealthy family and grew up watching his mother struggle to provide the best to her children. His mother encouraged him to improve his music skills by playing classic R&B artists like Smokey Robinson, The Supremes, and Marvin Gaye. He was passionate about music since his childhood. Bone Thugs-n-Harmony (formerly known as B.O.N.E. Enterpri$e and also referred to as simply Bone Thugs or Bone) is an American hip hop group formed in 1991 in Cleveland, Ohio. Consisting of rappers Bizzy Bone, Wish Bone, Layzie Bone, Krayzie Bone, and Flesh-n-Bone, the group signed with American rapper Eazy-E's Ruthless Records in late 1993 and made their debut with the EP '' Creepin on ah Come Up'' the following year. In 1995, they released their second album, '' E. 1999 Eternal'', which included the hit singles " 1st of tha Month" and " East 1999". The Bloodhound Gang is an American rock band formed by James "Jimmy Pop" Franks and Michael "Daddy Long Legs" Bowe in 1992 in Quakertown, Pennsylvania. Pop is the sole constant member of the band. Blaque ( ) is an American girl group; they had songs chart from 1999 to 2004. Outside of the United States and Canada, they are known as Blaque Ivory. Their self-titled debut album ''Blaque'' sold more than 1 million copies and was certified Platinum. The group's debut included the platinum-selling lead single " 808"; a second single, " I Do"; and the international pop hit " Bring It All to Me". In 1999, ''Billboard'' named Blaque the 4th Best New Artist of the year, with "Bring It All to Me" landing at number 30 on the 2000 Year End Chart. In 2002 and 2003, the group released three less successful singles, " Can't Get It Back", "Ugly", and "I'm Good", the latter appearing in the film ''Honey''.
