Free Radical Design
Free Radical Design Ltd. was a British video game developer based in Nottingham. Founded by David Doak, Steve Ellis, Karl Hilton and Graeme Norgate in Stoke-on-Trent in April 1999, it is best known for its ''TimeSplitters'' series of games. After going into financial administration, it was announced on 3 February 2009 that the studio had been acquired by German video game developer Crytek and would be renamed Crytek UK. Crytek had a good relationship with the city of Nottingham due in part to its sponsorship of the Gamecity festival and its recruitment drives with Nottingham Trent University. In 2014, the studio was closed, with a majority of the staff transferred to the newly formed Dambuster Studios. In May 2021, two of the original founders, Doak and Ellis, reformed Free Radical Design under Deep Silver to create a new entry in the ''TimeSplitters'' series. Dambuster Studios
Deep Silver Dambuster Studios Ltd. is a British video game developer based in Nottingham, England and owned by Deep Silver, itself part of the Embracer Group-owned Plaion. The studio was founded on 30 July 2014, and was set up initially to take over the development of '' Homefront: The Revolution'' from Crytek UK; which was closed later that same day, transferring all of its employees to Dambuster. History In 2014, Crytek suffered a financial crisis due to internal structuring, and ceased paying wages to the staff members at their UK subsidiary, Crytek UK (formerly known as Free Radical Design). During the development of '' Homefront: The Revolution'', Crytek would sell the '' Homefront'' IP to Deep Silver and close down Crytek UK. Battlefront III
''Star Wars Battlefront'' is a 2015 action shooter video game developed by DICE and published by Electronic Arts (EA). The game, based on the ''Star Wars'' film franchise, is the third major release in the '' Star Wars: Battlefront'' sub-series, but is considered a reboot to the previous games, instead of a sequel, to reflect the new ''Star Wars'' canon that Lucasfilm established (to replace the ''Star Wars'' expanded universe) after being acquired by The Walt Disney Company.
